We have good independent restaurants but the pubs are not really working for me on the lane and any new pub would hopefully be good.

Not sure about that - I don't mean Foxy - but genuine alcoholics go decades without a drink and fear what happens if they have another one - I guess you could be pedantic and say you cant be dependent upon alcohol if you aren't having any but i'm not sure that's what the term means. I think it means its an almost daily part of your life generally, but you manage it?

I heard a debate on radio 5 last night about whether we should be honouring these players. I would certainly say yes - its a long tome ago but the gap and low achievements since then has made the achievements all the more poignant. The home advantage thing is trotted out many times but it was pointed out in this programme that at the time, recent hosts had not fared well.
He did get in trouble earlier in the tournament apparently - and the FA wanted him dropped - Ramsay stuck by him and he was obviously needed in the Argentina game which by all accounts, even for those times, was nasty.
Was on Sky HD tonight. Wonderful programme. What an achievement. Beating Argentina and then Portugal was fantastic. Bobby Charlton and Bobby Moore were the heroes but Stiles was good enough to police Eusebio into submission in the SF.

its about humanity - people love their children the same the world over - why anyone thinks hitting them is a good way to demonstrate love is beyond me. I just couldn't do it. And my children are far from perfect.

It's our rules here and we need to protect children from abusive parenting. In my view, even our laws are not strong enough. It seems children are the only people you can hit and get away with it - which is scandalous, parents must be more imaginative in directing children - its the biggest responsibility you will ever have and hitting children should be completely outlawed.

I like that Seabag. If this Star Wars is as shit as the first one it will make a lot of people happy I guess. I'm hoping it's completely different, so that the 48 year old Mick likes it more than the 10 year old kid in me was confused by the original. I really want to like it and will see it out of blind curiosity, with 6 year old child in tow, an imaginative boy by his father's standards.
