  1. I think from my experience of my own child, who is now 8, though not at gg, they do not, at a young age, even take much notice of different family models. I am sure any school worth it's salt will bear this in mind when making mothers and fathers day cards etc I don't know how my son's school deals with lesbian families but I know they dealt with fathers day sensitively for the little girl whose dad had died Good idea to communicAte with the school about it
  2. Another vote for Lorenzo who got brilliant photos of our FOUR children - no easy task!
  3. sainsburys or AJ Farmer Waht do you need exactly? (Apart from wine)
  4. My understanding is that there is a possibility use of thd vaccine can increase the prevalence of shingles later on Re whether it's spread mostly through nurseries? Our twins had a mild case at 8m just a few spots each ... Despite being bf... No idea where they got it Will be interesting to see if they get it again,., there are cases at their creche
  5. Think will stick to cp one o'clock club then!

I am not sure why that transferred. We love Heber! Perhaps they thought the hamlet would suit their children better, or perhaps they had moved closer? Actually thinking about it, i think it was only 1, possibly 2 who transferred. I think the other child who left went to a different school totally. My point was really that children do get into Hamlet who weren't at DVI, but TBH without me knowing those families addresses, the information is a bit useless!

Several children from my son's class at Heber transferred to Dulwich Hamlet for Y3 - unfortunately I don't know where they live. But that 1000m approx distance will be the furthest allocated under distance. However, the majority of entrants are likely to be much closer. You could ask for more detailed information from the school.

  9. I think the reflux experience hAs left him with a food aversion and you get a referral x
  10. Baby could be long and thin or shorter and rounder - different stands suit different babies Also newborn poo can be very hard to Contain in ANY nappy Used sainsburys sized zero for our twins when tiny

  13. None of ours had been Particularly interested until well onto toddlerhood Being too dependent might be a bit of s two edged sword But for a baby try a Muslin and make it smell of you/milk
  14. I am an atheist but I like this 'When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives means the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving much advice, solutions or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a gentle and tender hand. The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief or bereavement, who can tolerate not knowing, not curing, not healing, and face us with the reality of our powerlessness, that is a friend who cares. ~ Henri J. M. Nouwen in Out of Solitude; Three Meditations on the Christian Life '
  15. Some discussion here http://www.babyledweaning.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=182&start=0 Those mums all seem to alternate milk and solids Maybe the milk followed by solids works for ff/pur?e?
  16. At first the solids ate just for taste esp If blw Everybody finds the first month or so of weaning us very awkward and seems to be nonstop feeding It will start to feel More natural and fall into s pattern as you get used to it And then The pattern will change every few months till you get to 1y plus and milk starts to play a backseat
  17. If it's any help when I weaned mine (bf) I alternated milk and solids as it didn't seem practicL to combine the at one meal especiAlly with my twins I also found it suited me, and a blw approach, to offer solids when I was having my own meals When I start weaning my latest baby I think I will do something like Milk in bed as usual about 630/7 Cereal, fruit at 8ish with the other children then milk and a nap Awake at 930ish Solids about 1100 Milk at 12ish and a sleep That sort of thing However if you are bottle feeding there is prob less of an association between milk and naps
  18. Are you bottle feeding or breastfeeding?
  19. Suggest she join her local twins club now ( maybe look it up for her) and look for An online prem or twin forum if that might help Lots of twins re born early She might benefit from a 'buddy .'
  20. If she starts to express milk then moral support and help with that might be useful Anyone reading this with s baby under 6m - think about registering to donate milk for tiny bsbies like this It's difficult for thd mothers to sustain with the stress they are under but having breast milk makes s huge huge difference to them
  21. A close friend of mine had her daughter at 24.+0 It's a long long haul for such tiny babies I agree it's important to send congratulations but at 25 weeks the bsbies won't need clothes and when they do the hospital will have some Maybe tiny knitted hats,,,? I think helping out with washing, dropping round milk, bread, a meal would all be helpful Maybe offering to update others with news What hospital are they in, I hope they are local to her x
  22. You can borrow my lactaline if you would like? Though I will need it for work on Monday
