  1. I must say mine has been a star the last 24 (which i spent mostly in bed) He fed baby F at 12.30pm but didn't bring him to me for the night, when I asked why not he said "I thought you wanted me to do the next feed first" I said "Nooo... only staying up till just after your normal bedtime!" esp as he gets up atm at 5.30-6.30am with the twins. In the end Little F and I had a lie in till 9.30am. Then he took the 3 big ones out to softplay, by bus. So I have had a fairly relaxed day, seen the midwives, and got a call with our tongue tie appt for 3.45pm today (!) so it's good I am feeling mellow...
  2. Aching, sweating all night, temp shooting up and down, splitting headache, sore stomach....

  4. hh, as this baby is currently being fed expressed milk from a bottle, while others were 100% bf, there is more opportunity to help. But actually i am doing the baby, he recently took over the twins, who are prone to night terrors and very early risers. I am ill hence he had to take the baby fri night for a bit, Also he is feeding him now, i am expressing
  5. Thanks! Moral support via FB etc and mails from my midwives in between visits are all helping to keep me going!
  6. Thanks everybody! Will keep you informed. Despite feeling rather fluey myself I have managed to add 20z of expressed milk to my stocks so far today and tiny baby is contendedly dozing, with a return to feeding every 3 hourly, thank goodness.
  7. Helen, he is in a job where he is committed to provide cover for one of the two Xmas weeks... plus took a week off (managed to get it paid) before his pat leave, due to me being in hospital, and next week is taking a week's annual leave leading up to Xmas so wil have been off for 4 weeks. To cover the week between Xmas and New Year if I'm still expressing and then a few days after the 4th so the baby can learn to bf, would just be too long. I have my heart fixed on getting this sorted early next week then MW support to relearn the feeding and then a 4 day babymoon over the long Xmas weekend!! I might be able to get part of the ?? back via a HSA policy we have, fingers crossed
  8. I ghink it's Clare Kedves/Joanne Joseph on 020 3299 3833
  9. I am not very impressed with the overall care at DMC these days and it seems I always need to make a complaint to the practice manager to get an appt when needed, or a repeat prescription sorted I also got really mucked about by the lanes who took me off their list and never booked me after appaently leaving me messages I never got ehile not getting my messages to them (and not responding when I called in tears bleeding after a car acident in the second trimester) I notice they have a sign up atm saying their message system isn't working so guess that hasn't changed!
  10. When we got home from the twns birth MrF took tohis bed for 24h he was so tired Haiving said that, he was up almost all night last night dealing with growth spurting baby, sick me ad wde awake twins
  11. MrF came in and promised me a cup of tea but instead came back brandishing the steriliser and accusing me of not cleaning it out often enough. Very useful right now, not.
  12. Actually, the LA won't withdraw the offer just because you don't respond. The staff are probably mostly on holiday anyway.
  13. What did I do do to deserve all this? I have been expressing madly all day to keep up with tiny baby F (tongue tied) who has been on a growth spurt... he's already consumed approx 20oz and even after expressing just now for 40 mins, I only have about 15oz left in the fridge, he will probably want more like 20oz by breakfast tomorrow. I am feeling all fevery and ill and decided to fall back on some of the stuff I froze early on. Only to discover the twins had unplugged the freezer a few days ago. So now there is no back up supply and I can't go to sleep until I have managed to express another 8oz or so, as back up for the night time.
  14. Fair point, PRD! Is it part of the ED community in the same way, do you have neighbours who go to Fairlawn?
  15. MILK WITH BLOOD IN WILL DO NO HARM AT ALL, BTW
  16. Do you live a lot closer to Goodrich? Being able to walk to school is a huge advantage. Our son is at Heber and we see Heber uniforms and children round and about all the time in the park, sweetshop, library etc, although since we moved a mile away, we do lose out on being right on the doorstep in terms of playdates, shared drop offs etc I'm not sure that an be said for Fairlawn... though I know it is a very very good school.
  17. That deep pain could be mastitis or thrush deep inside the breast. I think id you spoke to Clare Kedvers at Kings (bf coordinator) she would be able to advise...
  18. trish, there may be a problem with his latch. are you getting good help? how old is he, is he gaining weight, contented, filling his nappies?
  19. i am managing to express enough atm, but need to get it fixed before mrf's paternity leave ends!

In my school our salaries are less than 80% of our budget. 3.3% inflation on the remaining ?1m odd is ?33k. There is also no funding in the system for the increase in pupil numbers. Cuts in grants that equate to several hundred thousand pounds over the next few years. And the LA is now charging us for services previously "free" - to the tune of approx ?600k over 4 years I estimate. Please don't fall for the hype... schools nationwide are gearing up to slash spending. Re incremental drift, it's contractual... http://www.mikebakereducation.co.uk/blog/299/spending-review-what-it-really-means/ http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:W6byBoap4BcJ:www.teachernet.gov.uk/_doc/13573/Supplementary%2520Pay%2520Evidence%2520130509%2520final.doc+teacher+pay+review+body+incremental+drift&hl=en&gl=uk Teachers are paid on a 6 pt scale (plus 3 upper pts) and progress each year until the maximum is reached.

Ithink I read it might affect speech? In our case, he won't latch on at all, now, unless with a nipple shield, and even then, he keeps letting go and crying.
  22. Is he crying? or just awake? I think sometimes you have to sod the bedtime routine, grab a bath with a large glass of wine, eat your dinner and leave your partner to supervise the baby. One late night or a night where your partner takes him out for a drive in the car or something to get him off, won't do any harm.
  23. Southwark have dropped the criteria re closest community school now it's just straight distance.. think Lewisham never had that criteria anyway. It doesn't make a huge amount of difference when it comes to your chance of getting in to your closest school, but if you fail to get a place there, you will have more chance for your second choice, is my understanding. If you like Horniman, speak to Lewisham admissions about the distance for allocations in 2010 and likely distance in 2011...

Councils like the one where I work are slashing education services to the bone.
