Southwark Primary School Results 2010 Key Stage 2

So in absolute real > terms that near as dammit means no cut. You forget about the effects of incremental drift, and the effect of various grants being "mainstreamed" Whatever spin is put on it, the outcome for schools spending is bad news in many many areas, James, even though it will be some time before the overall effect is totally clear. -
Southwark Primary School Results 2010 Key Stage 2

Been told the clinic has no space before 4th January. :-( But it can be done privately (by the same doc) for ?410 which means no wait. We don't have much choice really as when MrF's paternity/annual leave ends (after Boxing Day) I will be flying solo and atm feeding with the nipple shield which takes ages, then topping up with a bottle, then expressing, is taking up approx 2 hours out of every 3, and I can't possibly continue with it once I have two toddlers to look after

If you google "Wonder weeks" you will find stuff about the various developmental leaps which can affect sleep. I think there is one at a year, and another at about 61 weeks... -
VA schools like DVI have their own criteria, but I don't know if that measn the application is considered separately to the one to LA schools. For the open places the ctieria are much the same as for comunity schools

Heber had a return OFSTED and the early years was deemed good. Our son had been in nursery and reception at the time of the original inspections and we were very happy..... the weakness were about assessment I believe. I think it's the case that first choices are allocated where possible prior to second. I note the criteria re ckosest community school has been removed for this year. 1.1 Over-subscription Criteria (for all years except nursery): In the event of there being more applications than places available, places will be allocated in the following order of priority: (i) Children in public care (Looked After Children) [see note (a)]; (ii) Children who will have brothers or sisters attending the school at the ir time of entry [see note(b)]; (iii) Where professional evidence indicates that there are particular psychological, medical social needs which the LA and Headteacher agree can best be addressed at the school [see note ©]; or (iv) Children living nearest the school measured by straight line route from home to the mschool gate [see note (d)] http://www.southwark.gov.uk/downloads/download/2364/a-la_oversubscription_criteria_201112_determined I would call admissions or go via your councillor for specific advice.

Free or cheap things to do over Christmas holidays?

DLR from Lewisham to Docklands Museum which though it didn't use to be free, is pretty good and surroundings interesting too -
I would go to cows milk. Thre reasons for not having it as a drink pre-1 as I understand it are mostly to do with it having insufficient nutrition (but swapping out just one bf at this point can't be that harmful) along wth some possible effects on iron absorption/possible allergy that must be related to how mucy cows milk is taken in total.

What do you do with your eldest whilst in labour????
Fuschia replied to Ruth_Baldock's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I had a vague plan in place for the twins to be whisked away overnight in the hope our planned homebirth would happen then... births one and two being 3 3/4h and 6h respectively... And then I ended up with 3 separate hospitalisations before the birth, the final one involving an ambulance dash through the snow with wickedly high blood pressure, an induction that took from Tuesday/Saturday. and even after I got home on Sunday, Monday's viist from the comunity MW saw me sent back and readmitted for two days! So best laid plans and all that. Had to beg steal and borrow favours from loads of people (including the mum of one of DS1's schoolfriends who came over for a few hours on Fri evening to fill a gap despite having her own child sick in bed/off school) People are only to happy to help if they can, I've found. -

But in answers to Katy's question, from my esperience she is unlikely to radiclaly change her preferences and stop with the all night milk bar unless you create something of a baerrier, but there are gentle approaches to night time parenting - look at Elizabeth Pantley, William Sears and Jay Gordon.
-
I think it's the way humans evolved... milk is richer and prolactin levels higher at night and as hunter/gatherers night was probably the quiet time for the baby to lie close to the mother and stock up (also being very close meant protection from wolves etc) So there is nothing "bad" about cosleeping, drip feeding through the night etc etc... it's just one end of the continuum of approaches to aprenting, albeit radiclaly opposed to the "10 steps to sleeping through" approach that sells baby mags and reality TV. I think as with m uch parenting, you do what feels right rather than adopting a theoretical position... and then when it no longer works for you, you have to amend it to suit the family. x

Well, I think we can agree that for our purposes, it is better for Sainsburys to issue tickets (enforceable or not)

I was still up at 1am trying to get the baby to feed (huge oversupply problem here atm and milk gushing everywhere, sure my body is expecting to be feeding twins) and I endedup giving him by bottle some milk I'd expressed off earliert I was so engorged. Just expressed again, 9oz off each side, in the hope he will be able to latch on when he wakes up!
