oh no!! That looks horribly sore I think I might invest in some bicycle clips too then for when we get our bees, or at least make sure I tuck my jeans into my socks (very attractive) went to visit some hives the other day, here's the album of pictures I took. One of the colonies was very aggressive so we quickly moved on... luckily there was more than one hive to look at!

Live music venue in E Dulwich?
tarafitness replied to naomijaynehicks's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
heh, not in ED.. it's far too mumsy and middle classed for all that ;-) Boho/Adventure did live Jazz midweek for a bit but not sure that's still on, perhaps the wrong crowd? I reckon you'll have to go to Peckham or Brixton for that kind of thing This place in Peckham is meant to be quite cool: http://www.clfartcafe.org/Site/HOME.html Or there's the Hootananny in Brixton: http://www.hootanannybrixton.co.uk/ they've a large outdoor area at the front I lived 2 mins from that in Herne Hill for 2 years but never visited it... think I might be remedying that tomorrow! let me know what you decide on if it's not something I've mentioned... always keen to know about new places! What is East Dulwich Missing - Food Wise
tarafitness replied to SweetShopDan's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Penguin - mine can only manage flies ;-) Clarey, I think you're absolutely spot on. We go to TCC regularly because it's a lovely little place run by nice people who serve decent food at a very good price. If we want top-end Thai we go somewhere else. That doesn't mean I wouldn't like to see an up-market Thai in the area but it also doesn't mean I want TCC to change! The *only* gripe I have with TCC (other than the duck in their delicious red curry being a wee bit on the tough side at times) is that their take-away food costs the same as if you eat in. -
What is East Dulwich Missing - Food Wise

Locale on east dulwich rd does good steak and it's half price on Mondays :-) Would love a decent caribbean restaurant Hisar and Koz serve the same sort of food you find in a lebanese restaurant, tasty but a high-end lebanese restaurant would be welcome -
Stik the street artist is painting Dulwich

How completely awesome! Dulwich should be honoured, his manages to convey expression and emotion in such few brush strokes he should be commended not vilified, his work is thoughtful, not thoughtless and mindless like the tags you see on bus stops/trains etc :-) -
never-ending shenanigans at dulwich baths
tarafitness replied to Lee Scoresby's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Same here, just signed up again at Brockwell Lido so can use their facilities as well as Dulwich. The sauna and steam room are nice as is the jacuzzi :-) looking forward to the lido opening again, they've been repainting it, it looks great :-) The spin classes there are pretty good too I'm told. Used the Dulwich gym for the first time since the refurb on sunday, was impressed by the kettlebells and TRX, though on that note I think the gym staff should check them over for safety's sake as someone had fixed one to the frame by the carabiner!! -
WOW! Amazing pictures guys, thanks for sharing!

never-ending shenanigans at dulwich baths

considering re-joining Fusion as would like to train my OH (have a gym at work but it's very small). if I do it'll be Brockwell Lido so that I can use both premises (he goes to the spin classes there). I haven't used Dulwich since the refit but I've been told the weights section has improved vastly and they've got a TRX set up. However... we went to Brockwell Lido this Saturday past and... surprise, surprise... the showers were running cold! Felt like I'd never been away ;-) the last time I used Dulwich was when they had *all* the cardio and weight equipment in one pokey room and the 'gym manager/staff member' on duty felt it appropriate to lie hidden in the back room on a heap of mats reading a glossy magazine. I'm not sure he could have looked any less interested if he'd tried! -

Fabulous! a wee thermometer?! Whatever next ;-) wasn't urine also used in the past to set colours in fabrics? plus I'm sure I saw a film where a guy peed on a cotton sheet which apparently made it stronger so he could twist it round the bars of a jail cell to bend them and free himself... or did I just see that in a weird dream?! oh and it's also apparently good for jellyfish stings, but it has to be 'donated' by someone else... so I'm told! -

Sue, you're in for a treat love, they're back!! I had this picture emailed to me by my boyfriend earlier... http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-EmM0JyUH2gY/TyZ-iIaxarI/AAAAAAAACtg/W1pW74sFifI/s320/More_Bottles%2521.JPG with the message: I don't believe this... So after a week's hiatus they're back with a vengeance... do you think it likely to be related to fact that we've had a caravan parked on our road for the past month or so?? Surely it's too dark to be pee?? If it is then it must be coming from some malfunctioning kidneys! -
Just to say that my fella wandered in their the other day and was given a tour. He was so impressed that he's registered all three of our moggies there. Apparently the premises are very impressive and inviting with 2 assessment rooms and a state of the art operating theatre. the two ladies who run it (sorry, have forgotten their names, he did say!) are very nice and enthusiastic I'm told :-) Also, they don't put a mark-up on pet essentials so we were able to get 6 months flea treatment for about the same as we'd have paid for 3 months worth through Brockwell Vets... pretty sweet! They're also planning to introduce a cat/dog/small animal club where you pay a fixed monthly fee which includes all check-ups, flea treatments, vaccinations etc for a year. Not sure when that will be in place but we'll be sure to take advantage of it when it is :-)

I don't doubt their good work, but they *do* kill animals I'm afraid. There's no dressing it up any other way. It's just quite tragic and so unfortunate :-(

oh the poor little mite, how utterly heartbreaking :'-( I hope she finds a happy home, hopefully age and gender will be on her side and she doesn't get killed by Battersea Dog's home

David, I don't think that is the case unfortunately. The bottles were there before Christmas, then removed. They've been replaced with more and there was an extra one last night :-( If someone made up too much drink they'd just pour it away surely?
