I'm going to take my scary looking bull breed dog to Dulwich Park right now, so if I happen upon the skinny, aggressive staff I'll beat it with my big chain doglead, cos my dog is a pussy and runs off at the first sign of trouble. If anyone wants to shatter their stereotypes, come and meet this chav and her "Aggressive dominant behaviour" pitbull, i'll be there until about 3:30.

It might be more effective than the so called traffic calming measures like speed-up bumps etc.

Is it possible to beat early stage diabetes?
LegalEagle-ish replied to LegalEagle-ish's topic in The Lounge
I've heard that there is a natural sweetner called stevia which is much healthier than the others (Aspatame is supposed be really scary) so that might help. I'm going to try to ease out of my diet all the high carb stuff I live off, like bread, rice and pasta. Sourdough bread sounds nice tho. Getting back into taekwondo with my daughter too. I feel a lot better hearing from people who have managed to recover from this tho, and the new, slimmer, healthy image of me that I have in my head right now is a good motivator! -
Is it possible to beat early stage diabetes?

Thanks for the advice. It's still early yet, i need another blood test next week before i get any referrals but i wanted to start on changing my diet straight away to see if that helps. I've been looking for info on what i can and can't eat and drink. Is all alcohol bad or are some worse than others? -
I have just had a blood test that shows I may have the early stages of adult onset diabetes and wondered if anyone knows if it can be halted or reversed if I manage to give up sugar (damn that will be hard!) or lose weight. Does anyone have any advice on managing or beating diabetes at the early stage (or even when it has become full-blown diabetes). Has anyone managed to halt it in it's tracks?

I've had two sets of 4 chickens and they were all got by foxes. My dog seems to stop them coming around in the daytime, but the stupid chickens didn't go in their coop at night, so weren't locked in and got mullered. I'm in the process of building a bigger run that is hopefully fox-proof and will only free-range my next batch when we are in the garden to keep my little egg factory going a bit longer! I was getting 4 eggs a day most days from each set of my 4 chickens and the food was not expensive so it was definately worth it. Main problem, tho is that they are shit machines - but it's all good for the compost heap.

What's the best piece of advice you've ever had?

Don't buy it if you can't pay cash! Should have passed that one on to Gordon. -
Sorry Keef, but the law changed in 2004 re the definition of rape and if a girl is comatose or totally off her tits she can't give consent, so it is rape. Here is some helpful information about the Sexual Offences Act 2003 which goes into some detailon the meaning of consent for anyone interested!

BBW - I think it was the 'cottage' pie that hurt his bum that made me laff when posted on a thread about cottaging in bogs.

I thought The Sheild was good and I love The Wire.

They are a really crap company - their sales people don't get a basic, they are on commission ony and get ripped off on their commission too. My other half had the misfortune to be employed by them for a few weeks.

Suitable for what? Kopping off or snorting coke?

The professional women of Soho have an ugly mug list of nasty guys to avoid that is distributed between them all. Maybe us laydees of ED should distribute a similar creeps to avoid list.

Oh yeh the disease knowingly transmitted doesn't have to be HIV to be assault, GBH or ABH - it can be hepatitis, syphalis etc
-
Here are two cases of conviction for knowingly transmitting HIV R v Dica and R V Conzani These are just the reported appeal cases - there are more unreported Crown Court cases.
-
Charlie - yes I can't remember the case but it was assault after a guy knowingly infected his gf with HIV. And Moos - it's important in anything like this to have as much evidence as possible before ging to the police - so if that is Felicity's motive then it seems justifable to me,
-
I disagree - why should the thread be locked? I think the subject should be changed to 'Evidence needed to prosecute possible sex offender in ED' though.
-
From what I have been told through PM the guys involved could all be guilty of sexual harrassment, false imprisonment, harrassment (stalking) and assault so I hope anyone who has encountered these guys gets in touch with both Felicity and Heidihi so that a proper prosecution can take place with evidence from as many of their victims as possible. They both seem to be looking at taking the matter further and the evidence from any other victims would help with their prosecution and help to build up a pattern of behaviour.
-
I agree that what you did was the right thing. If the guy or guys in question do this on a regular basis then hopefully other women who have been victimised by this guy will come forward and prosecution will be easier. Also if they are prosecuted, they may end up on the sex offenders register so would be less difficult to prosecute in the future if they don't change their disgusting and illegal behaviour towards women.
-
The police are just as unlikely to see this as a serious thing as most of the posters on here - even if it is all true. In the criminal justice system a 'loose' woman has very little defence against any attack perpetrated on her if it is in connection with sex. If I'd had the same crap perpetrated on me and could prove he'd been giving the clap to other women on purpose, I'd drag the w@nker through the courts, just cos so few women would and I know what to expect from the defence lawyers.
