London Bridge to HOP was fine about 45 mins ago - train about 5 mins late leaving LB. Had a longer delay at Waterloo East though and there appeared to be some Southeastern Trains cancelled or delayed.

Is this an appropriate time to confess that I always read our erstwhile forumites username as "Undescendedtesticle"?

Are we talking legacy or sustainability here, Ted Max? And what will become of Betty?

Also one on south side of Westminster Bridge - outside the Marriott Hotel (old GLC). The Marriott also appears to have a mini "Glastonbury Tor" complete with all the various nations flags - replica of the one used in the opening ceremony - in its courtyard. Plenty of tourists seem to be availing of a great photo opportunity there!

Thank you everyone. Good tip re: trying Goswell Road centre rather than Victoria. I emailed VFS Global customer service who advised it is possible to attend without an appointment and that at the moment waiting times are not too long. And whilst getting my visa photos done yesterday, the very helpful British Indian Snappy Snaps woman suggested turning up at midday rather than first thing - as the early morning crowd usually dies down by then (apparently...). I will try my luck tomorrow! Thanks again.

Has anyone been to the India Visa Application Centre in Victoria? Is it possible to turn up and process a visa application without a booked appointment? And if so, will it take all day? Have spent over an hour this evening completing the online visa form and payment but failed when it got to trying to book an appoinment - aaagh! The booking schedule was showing plenty of availability this week and next but for the life of me, I could not proceed to booking an actual appointment. So seeing as how they have already taken my fee I'm thinking of just showing up with my passport and paperwork! I don't much fancy paying 95p per minute for the premium rate contact number, so EDF types - any experience of what to expect in the Victoria Visa Centre?? I will de-stress once I hit the backwaters of Kerala!

And this quite frankly, is just an insult to the professional integrity and accountability of Pharmacists. DMC is already a "for profit" business - I doubt any earnings from an onsite Pharmacy/Needle Exchange would in anyway influence prescribing habits of the GP's. Seriously.

I am so slow... But a lightbulb has just switched on! (Please note other lightfittings are available.)
-
Indeed. Ostentatious lightfittings appear to cause delusions of grandeur. And a clear loss of common sense. And custom.

I am utterly taken aback by the attitude of The Establishment That Shall Not Be Named on this forum. And so I'm with annabel42 and SJ on this one. And yes, respect to those other local bars & restaurants that are prepared to accept and respond to criticism via the EDF. Canvas & Cream are another (fairly) local business that was also willing to post in response to negative feedback - along with those mentioned above. I know where to take my custom.

Weird Factory building on half moon lane - what is it?
LuLu Too replied to edlady's topic in The Lounge
Not that secretive. KCL Dept of Botany/Plant Sciences. ETA: Although it appears that since my student days it has now become the centre for pharmacological research (ie: the James Black Foundation). -
Wagfree in Brixton Market (www.wagfreefood.com) is a brilliant local baker of wheat & gluten free yummy stuff - I think including pies! Franklins Fram Shop on L Lane stocks some of their goods - if you can't get to Brixton. Hope your mum gets to enjoy a GF pork pie!

Hmmm... I suspect most people would agree that in common parlance, the word "youths" is almost always taken to mean young men. The phrase "young people" or indeed "teens" might be commonly taken to mean either or both sexes. Can we just accept that on this occasion,as on most occasions when the term is used, youths means young men. Well done Atticus - you live up to your moniker - a good man (I am assuming of course you are male - would hate to appear "genderist"!). And I sincerely hope the woman who was attacked is recovering well and goes on to feel safe walking the streets of ED again.

'List Cleansing' at YOUR GP Practice
LuLu Too replied to The Gardens Surgery's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
OP - please can you be clear about your terminology; you refer to both "the local authority" and the "health authority". I assume you actually mean the PCT (Primary Care Trust) rather than either LA or HA? And as these are about to be abolished in less than a year, this "list cleansing" exercise is, I assume, on behalf of the GP's who will come to form and lead Southwarks future Clinical Commissioning Group? -
www.slam-iapt.nhs.uk You can self refer for (free) CBT via NHS locally and be seen at your GP Practice or elsewhere. Also provide signposting to more appropriate/self-directed/online resources etc if what they offer is not for you.
-
Do NOT pay Ladygooner, the EHIC card is absolutely free! Beware of dodgy websites. www.ehic.org.uk is the official site. The NHS Business Authority website has a link as does www.nhs.uk

Ah yes, most important to ensure that ones' GP is a member of The Royal College of Google Practitioners.

My ex is a PassivHaus architect and has written quite a bit on the subject. I can PM you if you want to google and read some online articles - lots of geeky technical details... Also have you checked out www.phai.ie? The Passive House Association of Ireland - might have some useful info/contacts for your Architect. Good Luck. It will be worth it.

Driving schools/instructors that teach in an (automatic) KA or Mini?
LuLu Too replied to zeban's topic in The Lounge
Lanes School of Driving offer automatic lessons. Most of their cars are Corsa's which are not that big and fairly standard for learner drivers. However they do have a "Lanes Gold" option - of which some cars are Mini's (and Micra's). Might suit you - and lesson prices appear to be the same as their regular cars. -
For HonaloochieB. xox And giggirl. And Laddy Muck. I do hope the worst hasn't happened. He had mentioned being unwell : (

Obama's War on the Catholic Church

So, just to be clear; Humanae Vitae advocates that the only true sexual union is essentially a threesome? Cool! -
Right Wingers are less intelligent...

I'm part of the dataset (BCS70)- wonder if I was an outlier? Knew that all these years of interviews would eventually lead to something useful - a thread in the EDF Drawing Room - fame at last! -

Shame. I assume the John Irving fan was referring to the pub in "An American Werewolf in London", not Clerkenwell! I've only ever had The Slaughtered Lamb experience in a tiny boozer in rural Norfolk (*shudder*). Back on topic - I like the CPT as is. No third space needed...
