Fine for enterting no entry zone in Peckham (Lounged)
Carrie replied to seanmlow's topic in The Lounge
I work right next to this junction - there are no entry signs on the right hand and left hand pavements and a big sign painted on the road saying buses only - they are not trying to disguise the fact that you are not allowed to drive along that section of road!! -
The Charter School (are you happy with it?)

Am I missing something - the only other David Sheppard I know is the one who was Bishop Of Liverpool? -
The Charter School (are you happy with it?)
Carrie replied to Libby's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I have two daughters currently in year nine and we are certainly very happy with the school - there is a good mix of kids - and all of them are local which means that they don't have to travel miles to meet up with their friends. Dave Sheppard who was the acting head has just been confirmed in the position full time which is great as he seems very hot on discipline. Our girls are cetainly thriving there. -
EDT = East Dulwich Tavern EDD = East Dulwich Deli Still no wiser on EDE - care to clarify?

What is the EDE - I know the EDT and the EDD but have never heard of the EDE!

East Dulwich parking survey just hit.
Carrie replied to karter's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I note Cllr Barber says there is concern about parking close to East Dulwich Station - is the survey going to be the usual blinkered type based on post code rather than proximity to the station - we already suffer from parking problems due to commuter parking on the streets on the SE15 side of Grove Vale - the introduction of a CPZ on the SE22 side would simply exacerbate the problem - the last time a CPZ was mooted it was for SE22 only! -
Dulwich Supermarket - 18 Lordship Lane
Carrie replied to macroban's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
It is on the same parade as Cafe Nero opposite East Dulwich Deli- and no it is not new has been there forever (also in it's previous incarnation as Andreas's- which I have to admit I still call it). The people who run it are really great (when my daughter was buying stuff for a cake she wanted to make and found she did not have enough money they let her take the shopping and bring the money in next time she called)- and the range of food they stock is fantastic - whatever esoteric indredient you need for the most elaborate recipe - I always find it there. -
Yes! I will be devasted if the Mirash goes.

You really need to go an see the schools in question to decide whether they are right for your children. Before we went to see the schools we had been swept along on the whole "Askes is best" wave and were sure we would put that top of the list. When we actually went to see the schools Charter stood out as being far and away the best for our children- they are now in year 9 and doing extremely well - but it wouldn't be the right school for every child.

Dulwich Hi-Fi Station / Car Forecourt

I used to prosecute people for driving/parking on the pavement when I worked at Camden Counci - it was many years ago so my memory is quite hazy but I think we used Highways Act 1835 - obviously no cars around at that time but the legislation referred to carriages of any kind so cars were caught by it! -

The pink house is on Overhill Road -
Frisco, you probably live on the SE15 side of Grove Vale - the council's barmy idea some years ago was to introduce the cpz on the SE22 roads near the station which would have made the life of those living on the roads on the SE15 side even more unbearable than they are now. Parking anywhere near my house on a weekday is difficult, if we move the car before 9am we know we won't be able to park again until after about 6.30 when the commuters start coming home - but weekends are lovely - I could park a juggernaut outside my house on a Saturday if I wanted to.

I would second the recommendation for South London Clutch - alwas been great for us - has even fixed a couple of little things for free!

Nothing wrong with having twins - I've got twin girls and twin cats - wouldn't have it any other way - always someone of your own age to play with and to snuggle up with - as well as fight with - goes for the girls as well as the cats!

Mertons won't cut timber ( or at least they wouldn't for me) - we always go to the place on Acre Lane in Brixton who will stir themselves to be helpful - can't remember the name though I am afraid

Sorry to correct you DiscoDex - but you don't pay stamp duty when you SELL it is the buyer that has the joy of paying that little sum of money! -
You could try contacting Ian Smith at Southwark Council ( [email protected]) he is the head of hygiene services - I have been in contact with him today after catching a southwark street cleaner having a p*ss up against a wall when I was on my way into work!

I nearly got locked in the park last night - saw the sign on the gate saying park closes at 8.30pm and as it was only 8.15 decided I had time to walk through to the gate on the South Circular - as I approached it saw the park keepers van driving away and it was already locked and my walk ended up as a run chasing the van to try and get out!

I will declare an interest (because I work there) but there is always Glazer Delmar on Rye Lane a very short 12 or 37 bus ride from Lordship Lane or a brisk walk for the adventurous and energetic...and we support the forum with advertising!
