  1. Might be a tiger moth
  2. There also appears to be one at the bottom of Oglander/Copleston Road opposite Goose Green School
  3. The circuit from Shipbourne in Kent around Ightham Mote is lovely and you can have lunch at the Chaser Inn afterwards
  4. Under the terms of a Southwark lease the windows don't actually form part of the demise and therefroe officially they are not yours to replace. However if you have already got consent from the Home Ownership Unit to replace the windows then this shoudl be fine - but do keep the letter in a safe place as you will need it when you come to sell. You do not need planning permission for new windows if you are not located in a conservation area nor live in a listed building. You would need a FENSA certificate or buildings regulations approval if using a non-FENSA registered installer.
  5. My 2 girls went into the sixth form this year and only looked around at 6th forms last year when they were in year 11. The 6th form open days appeared to be a bit of a scoial event where they hooked up with friends they hadn't seen since primary school - I don't think they ever had any intention of changing schools in the 6th form (they have were at Charter and still are at Charter)and I am quite glad they didn't. Starting the AS course is really full on - a huge step up from GCSE and with module exams straight after Christmas. I think they would have fallen flat on their faces if they were having to cope with a change of school on top of that.
  6. Nothing is straight forward - whilst we have got our internet back we still haven't got our phones back at Glazer Delmar- apparently BT have to reconfigure our phones but hope to have us back up and running by the end of today.
  7. Have just discovered that our internet at Glazer Delmar on Northcross Road has been reconnected. Not sure about the phone lines yet as I was logging on from home - but fingers crossed that it will be business as usual from tomorrow.
  8. A colleague of mine spoke to the men working on the repair this afternoon and was told that it would probably be fixed by Monday morning.
  9. We have had conflicting messages about what the problem is - first we were told that a cable had been cut through and then we were told that part of the cable had been stolen! Bit of nightmare trying to run a solicitors office without phones or e-mails. If anyone who is reading this has been trying to get in contact with Glazer Delmar then we have a couple of mobile numbers that you can contact to leave a message to ask us to phone you back 07852 412557 or 07956 342177
  10. Cora Secondary school children tend to make their own way to school - do a couple of trial runs with them over the summer holiday so they know the route and then let them go on their own at the beginning of term - will do absolutely nothing for their street cred if they are seen with their parents on the first day!
  11. The newsagent which is near Green and Blue has them.
  12. genwilliams - I think the OP is referring to what is locally known as Dogshit Alley rather than the bridge on Avondale Road with the bus stops.
  13. They could be Indian Meal Moths rather than clothes moths. Check your food cupboards - they like open bags of flour, dried mushrooms etc. If you see any in there or evidence they have been there (sort of cobwebby effect) then clear everything out throw away anything that is open and give it a really good clean. Keep anything like flour etc in sealed containers like tupperware. You can buy sticky traps for meal moths at Dulwich DIY.
  14. Hi James Can you also check that Oglander Road (Grove Vale to Oxenford Street) is to be included in the list of roads surveyed. Thanks
  15. If mine had bad dreams and were scared to go back to sleep I told them that if they told me what the bad dream was then that would let it out of their head and it would float away and not be able to come back to bother them again. They believed it which was the important thing. If you are "banishing" monsters with magic spray - make sure you banish them from the whole house and not just her bedroom!
  16. I think Dulwich DIY may sell it
  17. Mummy Laid an Egg by Babette Cole is good
  18. When ours were young and car sick we tried to make sure that every long journey we took was at night so they could sleep through the trip - seemed to work. Beware of carrier bags as a receptacle - they often have little holes in (which I found out to my cost!) We used an empty baby wipes box lined with a nappy sack - never travelled without it!
  19. There is a mixed cubs group that met at the scout hut on Bellenden Road 3rd Camberwell Cubs
  20. Have you joined Dulwich and District Twins Club when I had my twins (back in the days of Yore) they had a scheme where a Mum with older twins would come round both before and after the birth - not to help out in any practical way but it was great as moral support - and you may get recommendations from someone at the club who has used a night nanny. Youwill meet other mums in your position -for a first time mum having twins is such a different experience to having a singleton - 17 years later I would say that my best friends are other mums I met at the twins club!
  21. Have sent you a pm
  22. Just heard that it is closing at 3pm today in case anyone needs to get there. Not sure why its closing early.
  23. Almnost certainly there will be a covenant in the lease not to obstruct the common parts (e.g the hall) with bikes and prams and a covenant by the freeholders to take enforcement action against any leaseholder who is in breach of the lease. You could therefore contact the freeholder and ask them to take enforcement action against the other flat owner for keeping the bike in the hall but if you are also using the hall to store the buggy this may not be the route you want to take!
  24. When my kids were little we always went to the Christingle at St John's - it is definitely the child friendly one!
  25. On the last 3 mornings at about 9am I have seen the hand gritting machines on the back of Southwark cleaning lorries parked at the end of Northcross Road - not actually seen any in use and this morning saw the street cleaner distributing grit on the pavement of Northcross Road from a bag rather than one of the shiny yellow gritting machines that were parked just up the road from him!
