With the mefanamic acid you definitely need to start taking it before the pain starts - try keeping a diary so that you are aware of when your period is likely to start and then start taking the mefanamic acid a couple of days before - it is a preventative as much as a treatment for pain!

I guess that the original victim paid because he thought someone may have lost a wedding ring and that the person showing it to him was about to pocket the ring and not hand it in to the police, meaning that it would be lost to the original owner for ever. I know I would feel pretty gutted if I lost my wedding ring and the person who fell foul of this scam was probably trying to prevent someone else feeling like that!

Delayed primary school starting for summer babies
Carrie replied to bobby's bear's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Just for a bit of reassurance - one of my friends had very premature twins (28 weeks) born end of July - now both at university and doing well (one at Cambridge) and another friend's twins (not quite so premature) born on 20th August also doing well at uni in their second year. I was born on 31st August and was always the youngest in my year and it has never held me back - the only downside I can remember was that as my birthday was always in the summer holidays it was difficult getting people together for a psarty on the day! -
good schools and help for dyslexic 6 year old
Carrie replied to wodey's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Get in contact with the Bloomfield Learning Centre, they should be able to recommend local dyslexia tutors -
We flew back from Istanbul with Turkish Airlines in October having flown out to Turkey with EasyJet. Admittedly anythi g would probably be better than EasyJet but we were quite impressed with Turkish Airlines, cabin crew were pleasant, food was ok,seats were comfortable although as Huguenot says a slightly strange colour scheme.

You have probably got a down draft which can happen when there is cold air in the chimney. We used to suffer a lot from this problem until our chimney sweep recommended aiming a hair dryer up the flue for a short time if we could feel a draft coming down which dislodges the cold air, since then no more smoke filled rooms!

This is a response from someone who has read the report (sorry can't see how to make it a link) www.goonerjanet.blogspot.co.uk

The stop outside the old William Rose shop on East Dulwich Grove is where they stop when travelling away from London Bridge. So I guess the stop nearest the hospital if travelling towards London Bridge rather than the Derwent road stop.

I have had a mirena coil for years now ( in fact I am on my second)- and am evangelical about it - previously had very painful very heavy periods but now no bleeding, no pmt no period paid - what is not to like! for me the original fitting was very painful - about a day of really really bad period like cramps but after that only slight spotting for a couple of months and then no periods at all - massive saving on tampax! And Susyp - get to the doctor for a prescription for mefanamic acid - much better than any over the counter remedies for period pains.

Yes - I did look at the four seasons and thought it looked lovely - more than I was hoping to pay but maybe we could push the boat out for a special treat .....then I realised the price was per night and not for the 5 nights that we were going for!

Eresin is also booked up for the weekend we want unfortunately. Really want to stay in Sultanahmet and wanted to stay somewhere reasonably small with an "old" feel to it - Rast hotel looks a bit hotely if you see what I mean, although the location and views look great- but maybe I shouldn't be picky as everywhere else seems to be booked! Thanks for the recommendations.

Having endured a camping holiday in France which was infested with Oak processionary caterpillars some years ago I can confirm that the irritation arises where the hairs touch your skin, eyes etc so unless you were walking in the buff this does not sound like they are the culprits - wrong time of year as well as Penguin68 says. We had to leave the campsite early as my daughter's eyes swelled up and she was beginning to find it difficult to breath - they are very nasty little critters.

I remember some time ago there was a thread with quite a few hotel recommndations for Istanbul but having searched I can only turn up one recommendation for the Empress Zoe which looks lovely but unfortunately is booked up for the time we want to go. Any other recommendations?

It really is not worth the risk - if you tick the no signs of subsidence box the insurers will have a nice get out if you ever need to make a subsidence claim!

When our "trad" piano could be tuned no more we bought a Roland digital piano which I can recommend - and would also second Jah's recommendation of Lorraine Liyanage - SE22 Piano school

Or get the train from East Dulwich to West Croydon - get off at Selhurst and stay on the same platform for the East Croydon train then change at East Croydon for Gatwick. One more change of trains but as you don't need to change platforms and the next train comes along very quickly it does not really disrupt the journey. I did it that way a couple of months ago and caught a train at about 11.30 from East Dulwich and sitting was in the departure lounge at Gatwick less than an hour later (although did help that I only had hand luggage and that Gatwick was as quiet as the grave that day).

Nikki73 - the tool that allows you to enter 3 ingredients is on the tab "Food and recipes" on the website - I don't have the app so not sure where it would be on that. I was inspired to rejoin weightwatchers 4 weeks ago after reading this thread (although for me it is more like 9 months on 18 years off....) 10lbs off so far. For anyone not keen on running/gym attendance - I am doing a 4 week walking course with Joanna Hall who teaches active walking rather than power walking - you still walk at speed but engage the right muscles when doing so to help change your shape as well as lose weight. This weekend in the Telegraph there will be a free Joanna Hall exercise and diet booklet on Saturday and an exercise DVD on Sunday - which I think will give the basics of her technique - the only downside is that you have to buy the Telegraph to get it!

Masseuse at the Goose Green Fair last Sunday

The Vale Practice -
First mate - there is no legal barrier to having a clause in a lease saying that a flat owner cannot have a car but there is no real way of enforcing that outside of a CPZ. If there is a CPZ a car free clause can be enforced by not granting residents at that address a parking permit. Without a CPZ, as James says, the only way you could enforce it would be to check at regular intervals at DVLA whether there are any cars registered at that address which would be very unwieldy. As far as I am aware Southwark are pretty short of planning enforcement officers as it is so I can't see them taking on this task.

Carrie replied to James Barber's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
ed_pete they are installing a raised table at that junction so the road will be brought up to the level of the kerb stones -
Here you go Mick Mac - Wills are public documents once they have been proved.

I assumed it was due to a leak following the heavy rain which brought down the ceiling - there is a flat roof above. -
All work is finished and the lights have gone. Traffic was flowing freely at lunchtime.

Eurocamp: anyone been and would recommend?
Carrie replied to sparkle's topic in The Family Room Discussion
We used to go to the campsite recommended by Catgirl in the Loire (L'Etang de la Breche) with Eurocamp with a group of friends and their children every May half term - it is a lovely site and the Eurocamp pitches are quite big (compared with other French sites. We used to get the ferry over to Calais on Friday evening and stay overnight in an Etap hotel in Boulogne and then drive down on the Saturday morning. Eurocamp was always quite cheap in half term (I think it is quite an expensive option in the summer holidays) and the weather in the Loire was normally good (lazing round the pool type weather) although we did have a couple of rainy years. The last couple of years that we went we stayed on another Castels site in the Vendee which was another lovely site but I can't remember the name (maybe St Julien Lelande or something like that) which had a lot to do for slightly older kids - horseriding, archery, canoeing etc. Going on the Dover/ Calais ferry was definitely the cheapest option and staying overnight in the Etap hotel always worked out cheaper than any of the other travel options.
