  1. It's now been virtually uprooted! How hard do you need to hit a little bell-bollard to do that? What speed are these people going? How big does it need to be before people drive carefully?
  2. We could all stop talking about it if only they'd come back on here and ANSWER THE BLEEDIN' QUESTION
  3. Well maybe if they just answered my question....it's not difficult. C'mon Dulwich Picture House, yay or nay?
  4. "....went all Yewtree on us..." Phrase. Of. The. Day. Did we ever discover who the last person was? 63 year old male? Cliff? No more summer holidays either. We'd be stuck in a perpetual spring/autumn equinox!
  5. Are you planning on cooking while camping? If so, and you have the space, I like taking my own favourite knife, utensils and pan with me to go on a camping stove. Much better than "camping" equipment which while light is often of questionable quality.

  7. Will you be paying your staff the London Living Wage?
  8. I disagree. I think there are a large number of very poor drivers around who don't look where they are going. The old bollard was even bigger and they hit that too. Beginning to think it serves 'em right.
  9. Definitive for OKR. No definitive for Edgware. Personal preference and all that. Looking at the waffle I spouted earlier, now I'm wondering about "the" UK, USA and UAE.

Could you pick something a little less mainstream please.
  11. I see Kid Galahad is now European and Commonwealth champion. Undefeated in 17 bouts. Angling for Quigg and Frampton. Could be tasty. Out of the Ingle gym in Sheffield. Naz mk 2? Anyone seen him in action?
  12. Really? Why on earth not? They are perfect pub food. Quick. Can be eaten with hands. Salty. Savoury. Maybe a bit of chilli heat. All encourages the punter to have another brewski. Perfect.
  13. O'Death sung live, acapella, by Ralph Stanley. I reckon he might die first though. In which case, I See A Darkness by Will Oldham. That should get 'em going.
  14. Having met the man in this capacity I can also confirm he's as big a twat as you would imagine.
  15. What precise moment are we talking about *Bob*? As the coffin enters? Something for mourners to sing-a-long to? As the coffin descends (into ground or flame)? I reckon something classical and dramatic, followed by something uplifting, followed by something properly depressing and moving. I want them leaving my funeral in tears, the bastards.
  16. The use of the article relates to the time before independence in 1991, when Ukraine was a republic of the Soviet Union known as the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic. Since then, it should be merely Ukraine. Interestingly, neither Ukrainian nor Russian have definitive articles. There are many other country names that are habitually, yet incorrectly, referred to with "the", such as Congo, Gambia, Yemen, Lebanon, Sudan, Netherlands, Philippines and Bahamas. Only two countries, The Bahamas and The Gambia, should officially be referred to with the article.
  17. I've suggested signage. And talking to the owner/manager of the Lodge to instruct drivers to go along to Camberwell and around and down Dog Kennel Hill. You can't install width restrictors since the shops on Bellenden Road will sometimes need deliveries from large lorries.
  18. Much less traffic there as it's not the route through to Bellenden and out onto Peckham High Street. Giant European coaches ferrying teens from the Peckham Lodge don't help the situation by getting wedged in small streets with parked cars either side. I've raised the issue with Cllr James Barber.

  20. Yeah. Short ton = 907kg, long ton = 1000kg
  21. Although in the US a ton is 907kg so check it's the metric or "long" ton(ne) they are using.
  22. I might just be being a miser but I'm not sure I like the fact that the NHS funds your food. It's not medicine - it doesn't cure you or help you get better. It's just food. You can easily eat a gluten free diet without resorting to expensive, gluten-free variants of normally gluten-based products. Why should taxpayers have to fund this? I wonder what it costs annually?
  23. If it is the Brazilians wouldn't understand it. What with speaking Portuguese.
  24. You and your crushes.... Ruth from Spooks Beadie from The Wire Now these two....does El Piba feel comfortable with all this?
  25. We have the Outwell Nevada M and have used it a few times since purchase. I've nothing else to compare it to since tents before this were all for two people. It's very good. Easy to assemble (I can just about do it solo while MrsDC looks after the chimp) and very spacious inside. Having two inner bedrooms means the chimp gets his own bedroom with all his stuff in while the living area can house catering stuff. The living area is pretty substantial - big enough for 5 to sit in and eat on a wet day if necessary. It also has a host of accessories that you can buy for it to make it even bigger or more homely. Lots of the windows and walls roll up to let air in but have mesh to stop bugs etc. If you hunt around you can get it for your budget. The only downside is that it's massive and heavy to cart about. That's the trade off I guess.... Sorry to hijack your thread but on a related camping subject....the chimp has outgrown his travel tent thing (aged 2.5) but still sleeps in a cot at home. What the heck do we put him in/on when we next go camping???
