If you look and act like a complete dork, then maybe you are. Style is not superficial, but the external expression of something deeper. Your unironed shirt and shiny uniqlo trousers merely inform your co-workers that you do not care. About them, about yourself. Love yourself Jeremy, love yourself. And then go and get some nice tailored trews. ;-)

  5. Men who wear button down collar shirts with ties
  6. Or a train to E&C from Peckham Rye and then the tube.
  7. Inspired by the Commonwealth Games, I believe the race organiser is looking to resurrect a professional squash career and is enjoying a period of sobrierty to aid his training. Hence no BBRR this year. A fallow year so-to-speak.
  8. "It's" is always "it is", never possessive. I think the only other time the rule is broken is with numbers. i.e. "I'm all at 6's and 7's"
  9. Not really. It's designed to soak into the wood to protect it and provide a barrier against stains etc. It won't soak into paint so would be null and void. It's only if you take it back to natural wood.
  10. Instead of wax or varnish you could use a natural oil like linseed. Just make sure you don't buy the "boiled" version which sets quicker but is full of nasty heavy metals.
  11. Yes. Mine does when we go to the seaside but that's a bit different from being immersed in it when all they're normally used to every weekend is the bath-temp like waters of the Camberwell baths teaching pool.
  12. You can't use an oyster for two at the same time (i.e. tapping in twice on the same bus) - it won't let you. But the deposit on a card is refundable so just get one (?5), put ?10 on it, spend that and then hand the card back.

I'm not sure I agree. If someone was shooting at you with an air rifle, it's going to hurt but unlikely to do any real damage in 99% of cases. In response you pull out your RPG and blow everything to shite. It's not a proportionate response. http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&frm=1&source=web&cd=3&cad=rja&uact=8&sqi=2&ved=0CDEQtwIwAg&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DrtrX9rZl-j4&ei=9g_SU6HIHrCO7Qbsv4DIBg&usg=AFQjCNGR8COZaywmRoESGOaL5kTjZXxF8Q&bvm=bv.71667212,d.ZWU
  15. I always noted a sense of ennui in the pronounciation of "Penge" too. It's hard to communicate in print but something like: "This is the 176 to Pen*sigh*ge"
  16. Brockwell and Tooting lidos can be quite cold, even at this time of year, for small children who aren't used to those temps. I've discovered Charlton lido though, which is heated as well as outdoors. Ignroe the carbon fotoprint and give it a whirl.

I'll give you cupcakes but street parties? Sometimes you just want to be a misanthrope for the sake of it.
  18. I guess it made a change from taking it.

  20. I was looking for the great argument between her and Sue about some decorating work. Or I suppose there was the McCann thread. I cringe even thinking about it.

Gosh. Anyway, I was looking for one thread in particular but can't find it. So, basically, everyone of these: http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/search.php?12,search=DJKillaQueen,page=1,match_type=AUTHOR,match_dates=0,match_forum=ALL
  22. I remember some particularly unpleasant PM's I received from you. Are they related? People in glass houses and all that.... But the vast majority of the time your posts just reek of paranoia.... no is out to get you and I'm happy to listen to what you have to say. Just do it without the constant sneery asides.

  24. Admittedly I hadn't considered those 'making' software in that category but you're probably right, Loz. Perhaps 'create' is better. And it's certainly a modern craft. It requires genuine expertise to do well.
  25. Just to note that Iron Dome destroys over 90% of the rockets fired by Hamas. They do no damage at all. And looking at the casualty count that continues to be borne out. Israel's air-strikes on the other hand....
