  4. Brickhouse was a sourdough bakery, that was their usp. Clearly as they are selling off their equipment they have decided that it is not viable to trade, hence having closed down both shops due to the proposed rent increases. It was the same with East Dulwich Deli which had been around for ages but likewise, it became un-viable. Businesses come and go, that is the nature of business. And if you really want to go back in time, how many remember Plaice Bakeries who had several branches between LL, Forest Hill and Forest Hill Road?
  5. Have to give a special mention to Penny, always been well looked after by her as the practice nurse.

  7. wtf has this got to do with how people voted? Now just remind me which Labour leader suffered the worst election defeat result since the 1930's for his Party, oh wasn't that a certain J.Corbyn, current score nil and 4.
  8. That wasn't my point. Presumably the council will make good any damage, who pays for it - who knows? Try a FOI to the council to see the contract held between them and TM. That will disclose if they are required to pay for damage to the green or if the nomark who wrote the contract included such a clause or not. You'll also learn how much the council reaped from "renting" out the green to TM for a few weeks.
  9. Went past today and it looked as though Tree Amigos are winding/shutting down the operation today.

  11. So what Corbyn preached wasn't even his own thoughts but from a 17th Century journalist, say's it all really!!!!!! diable rouge Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Oh FFS, pleaae make it stop, it's now The People's > Government > Another 3-word ditty, that's where Labour went > wrong, For the Many Not the Few was Dostoevsky > when they needed Jackie Collins...
  12. When constituencies in the North East who have been Labour through and through change and become blue, hen that really tells the story that even Labour's own voters could not stomach voting for Corbyn and Co. The sooner he and his sidekick step away from leadership, probably as MP's as well, the sooner Labour can elect a new leadership team. Whilst Boris has a vast majority, good government only works when the opposition can argue with, hold to account and scrutinise the Conservative Government. It was sad to see Swinson lose her seat, but their is no reason for her to come back as an MP. She's done it before so no reason why that cannot be repeated. Like Labour, The Lib Dems need to go away and re-group. I suspect the reason their votes fell away was because the remainers did not have her optimism of making such a difference. As for those MP's who switched political alliances and parties, they got their just desserts and the electorate made it clear that if you switch parties you need to face the electorate and have a by election. What goes around comes around. The election confirmed the voters decision of the referendum, that they want to leave Europe. Whether you like it or not Boris has done more in his first 100 days then May did in three years. At last the Parliamentary dead lock has finally been broken and UK plc at last can now move forward. It will not be easy and there will be pain ahead for all of us.
  13. If Corbyn loses will he resign a leader?

  17. Went today, everything I wanted was in stock, queued up, lady on checkout till was friendly and lovely, no problems. There are one or two grumpy ones, such as the old woman in the bakery section who I find to be difficult and confrontational. On the deli section their appears to be no consistency in the appreciation of the terms thin or medium sliced, on the counter it can range from wafer thin to Thick cut, depending on which member of staff is serving. At times I wonder how they ever expect to sell some of the hams, when they look as though they have been left standing for days and appear dry, when a bit of cling film across the front would keep them from doing so.

  20. I think ?100 is excessive and to be honest, even ?50 for a children's birthday cake as the OP described her requirements. I hope the children have an enjoyable time and don't get the cream everywhere. Good luck with it.
