  1. Davis, from what you've said my understanding id that you don't believe their is a God or greater power, (apart from the power of nature itself) and that we didn't evolve from creatures in the sea or apes or chimpanzee?
  2. shame they don't read this thread, they might then comprehend how frustrated patients are with their incapability to offer appointments.
  3. yep and they probably use a burner because it's cheaper and lasts longer. keep banging on about the same point and people turn off. Maybe change the record!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Point made, you're anti wood burners.
  5. When you say everyone has an ideology, not sure what you mean by ideology, but if you mean values, then I agree with that. However I disagree with you when you say "that people with different beliefs will have different morals. It doesn't matter what colour, creed, age, gender, race or what ever other descriptive you want to insert, I would hope that everyone has morals, its just that some peoples morals are stronger than others, but that doesn't make them any less of a person.
  6. that was niether dismissive and patronising
  7. When did I mention I wanted to leave, what I would like to see is the practice provide sufficient appointments for its patients which it frankly is unable to achieve and deliver.
  8. Maybe it has something to do with how you use the language, you may be an "expert" in this area, readers may not have come across, be aware or have knowledge / experience about the topic which you may have. If you write in a way that people find easy to read and understand the points you are trying to make, the reaction received may then be different.
  9. I have no issues with the pharmacist, my issues relate to the totally inept reception and call centre staff and ultimately the management who can't manage their way out of a paper bag. The surgery continues to fail to meet basic expectations and if they are unable to provide a service, the management should either hand over the reigns to people who do care about the quality of the service being provided, or else the surgery should be placed back into special measures until such time they can consistency prove they are competent to provide an adequate service to its patients.
  10. Was told a GP wanted to review my meds, tried making an appointment only to be told "you have to call at 10am", and which I did a little later. By 10.45, no appointments available, you need to call back at 10am or come to the surgery at 10am. HOW long is this farce going to be allowed to continue for. How are you supposed to see a GP if no appointments are available, I actually do not need an appointment today, next week would have been fine. Computer says NO. And if you don't have a meds review your next prescription will not be acted upon.
  11. I feel sorry for the traders along Rye Land who presumably are suffering financially with the much reduced footfall.
  12. cognitive dissonance nounPSYCHOLOGY the state of having inconsistent thoughts, beliefs, or attitudes, especially as relating to behavioural decisions and attitude change.
  13. I would, its just as my tariff renews, Eon have included in their t&c's that a smart meter is compulsory for the cheaper tariff I want to switch to as my current tariff with them expires shortly. I have already had round one of arguments with them saying I don't want one as I provide regular readings and pay monthly direct.
  14. an energy supplier
  15. Does anyone have any experience of using Eon smart meters once installed. How do they work? How reliable/accurate are they? Would you recommend them? Any issues, snags or concerns once installed? thanks
  16. no.2) east DAG
  17. sorry, did I miss something, was it not you who was on a "witch hunt" trying to find out who EDIBA are? or am in a timewarp factor 10?
  18. and one in Lewisham now
  19. Why start another new thread on the subject you started your previous thread on? Makes no sense, and actually gives the impression that, well, you seem obsessed with this topic, let it rest man. Have you considered that the posters may have been produced for and by a group rather than an individual? If you had a business that was threatened you'd surely do something to raise awareness and protect your livelihood, wouldn't you?
  20. Well said Louisa Loutwo Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I think affordable chains alongside valuable > independents keep any high street viable. 21. Someone is getting very well remunerated for road repairs/replacement, step forward Conway et al, now you know where the money goes. The rich get richer and the poor become poorer or are driven out of area because they can no longer afford council stealth taxes. So is it any wonder the traders have taken the fight on directly rather than rolling over like pussies. Good on you LL traders, keep the fight up. And at the same time a minority bang on about what they want rather than considering what benefits the area. It is said that by 2014 all petrol and diesel vehicles will no longer be permitted and only electric vehicles will be able to use the roads. For that the authorities will need to produce more electricity to charge up the vehicles. NOW I ask, WHERE does that power come from, oh yes gas and coal etc. so as much as people will no longer be able to use internal combustion engines, the green lobby are hypocritical. Look what happened with plastic, it was cheap to produce and use, then the green lobby opposed plastic and it is gradually (very gradually) being eliminated. And what are we returning to, PAPER, just like was used nearly 80 years ago. It is funny that what fell out of favour is returning because in makes environmental sense. And had we not been diverted to plastic the oceans and its creatures would not be contaminated with the stuff. Rant over.
  22. If you had a business and it was potentially threatened as a result of a CPZ, it is not surprising that they have done something to protect their livelihoods and customers ability to purchase goods and services from them. I know if it was me, I would have done exactly what they are doing and good on them.
  23. The business will survive if people give it their custom, they opened in Forest Hill and appear to be able to trade successfully.
  24. It is frankly sad that a practice that covers an area covering both parts of East Dulwich and Honor Oak/Forest Hill fails so spectacularly to provide a coherent service to it's patients. It is a business with a licence to practice from the NHS. I appreciate that they are reliant on the NHS computer system, but nothing would stop them reverting to an alternative system until such time the NHS system becomes more "stable". Redirecting patients to the Lister Center in Peckham is nothing less than madness, not only is it financial suicide for the practice, for patients it's an inconvenience. I can understand why people present themselves at A&E rather than deal with an utterly hopeless practice. I hear tales of other practices and they run nothing like FHRGP. Why can they not learn and improve, rather continuing to diving head first into a downward spiral. CQC need to put the practice back into special measures until such time they can demonstrate that they not only meet the minimum standard but exceed these measure's. Furthermore the practice needs to sort out its issues with the pharmacy across the road so patients cease being stuck in the middle. I refuse to use the pharmacy and prefer alternatives that actually care about and look after their customers.
  25. you mean "computer says no" and they are incapable of resolving the error, really???? And then asking you to provide proof of identity, it just beggars belief. Actually it doesn't. The problem is that the surgery and the so called pharmacy across the road are at constant logger heads. It would help patients if the pharmacy and practice could be grown up enough to resolve their issues. I have heard of many instances where the practice or pharmacy blame each other. Ultimately the patients get caught in the crossfire. Put FHRGP back into Special Measures and if it does not improve, dismiss the current Partners and appoint new Partners who have the capability of running a practice PROFESSIONALLY, which this lot obviously are incapable of doing so.
