reception staff at The Gardens Surgery
dbboy replied to Anna D's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I had to deal with them for a number of years on behalf of a relative and found that when they became familiar with me, dealing with them was usually no problem and they became quite accommodating. Yes, their was the usual issue about booking appointments in the following month, that could not be done at the time because those appointments were not open yet, fair enough. They are a million times better than my own practice on Forest Hill road. -

New opportunity to save the woods!! Deadline Friday 23rd

this is what they said 8 months ago "Through this petition and paper petitions, Save Southwark Woods has earned the constitutional right to present the petition tot he full Council Assembly on evening of July 8th. There will be more information soon and we will be organising people to come along to help deliver it." Using your own words, how have you earned the constitutional right? -

Did you happen to tell ITV London News that "southwark woods" do not in fact exist nor have they ever existed . No, I did't think you did, because that would expose the myth, lies and mis information that you expound. They are made up and nothing less than a figment of your imagination. Secondly, what you call woods is ground that became over grown though council neglect and now want to use for the purpose it was intended for, burials. Thirdly, the ground a grave goes in is leased to the family for 50 years after which time it reverts to the council, unless the family extend the lease. Fourthly, more emotive language is used in the news report, after 75 years, there will be no coffin to dig up, the only possible thing remaining will be the dead person's skeleton The Council will not be "digging up any coffins or skeletons", what they will do is add a new internment above any existing remains. This is what happens when you die http://www.memorialpages.co.uk/articles/decomposition.php Fively, Are you really sure your video is in Camberwell Old Cemetery, I think NOT, It looks much more like One Tree Hill. As has been explained on numerous occasions, people are fed up to the back teeth with this quest and the mis information does you no favours. -
Haye was brutal, the Aussie never stood a chance, the first big punch he took knocked him spark out. I have seen lots of fights but although extremely short (less than a round) Hayes punch strength was awesome.

New opportunity to save the woods!! Deadline Friday 23rd

Penguin68 - an excellent post. I lost a very, very close relative in the last twelve months. Going to their grave is both a way of trying to cope with their death whilst also showing respect. Only when you have lost someone so so close do you realise how important visiting their final resting place is. -
mikeb, thank you for sharing this.

edborders - here you go again, you just cannot let it rest, banging on about the same thing. As you have already been advised everyone is fed up to the back teeth with you, are not listening nor interested. AND If you do quote me, at least use the full quote, again you only read and see what you want to, can I suggest removing the blinkers, you may find it beneficial. -
Can I ask what flood prevention works were carried by Southwark out on Dunstans and Underhill roads?

ADMIN - Please accept my apology in advance before I get barred for what I am about to say, I hope you can appreciate why. edborders - After one day of peace and tranquillity on the threads you have to go and spoil and shatter it, You could not wait to restart or hesitate to start banging on about the same thing again this afternoon. YOU HAVE MADE YOUR POINT. BUT EVERYONE'S FED UP AND BORED TO THE BACK TEETH WITH YOU AND NOT LISTENING ANY MORE BECAUSE YOU KEEP ON REPEATING THE SAME THING AND DO NOT LISTEN TO REASON OR ARGUMENT. IT SEEMS IT'S YOUR WAY OR THE HIGHWAY. WELL YOU ARE WRONG. THE AUTHORITIES HAVE DECIDED TO DO AS THEY SAID THEY WOULD DO. YOU KEEP BANGING ON ABOUT THE SAME THING AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN AT INFINITUM, NOW FOR F....s sake JUST GIVE IT A REST. -
duly corrected - intercede
-
Just keep on twisting words and mis using and interpreting the English language. You seem to think that everybody else is wrong and the louder you shout you'll eventually get your way. The Council have dismissed you and the works will proceed, in my view the sooner the better. Finally go and see how they successfully do it in the City of London, you might learn something, then you won't argue points that do not exist or try to invent things that don't exist.

New opportunity to save the woods!! Deadline Friday 23rd
dbboy replied to Michaelcb's topic in The Lounge
It was the 23rd of some month last year, now well in the past, closed, finished and definitely dead and buried. Unfortunately the tree huggers can't accept defeat gracefully as they love being the centre of public attention and keep resurrecting their old threads to bang on about their dead cause, or in their make belief world they would prefer burnt to a crisp. -
I'm getting a chain saw and starting now to cut them ALL down so it really does become a HILL with One Tree.
-
Not another one, please can admin intercede and stop multiple threads on basically the same thing.

I have never ever suggested digging up graves or the removal of headstones, yet again you mis represent my words. You can't find anywhere that I have said that because I have not And to put the record straight, I have suggested the possibility of reusing the graves that meet a set criteria set by the cemetery authorities and turning headstones and insribing teh rear that once turned becomes the front. As I have also stated this practice is done successfully in other boroughs so perhaps Southwark may want to look into this.
-
"tossing the monuments" that is such a disrespectful and inappropriate usage of language in the context of memorials. I have never said clearing Nunhead cemetery for new graves but rather suggested the possibility of reusing the graves that meet a set criteria. I suggest that you cease mis-representing what I have said, but that appears how you operate calling black white, yellow red and blue green. I am a realist and recognise that the Council although were negligent in not maintaining that section of over grown scrub in Camberwell Old Cemetery, are planning to rectify the issue and bring this land back into use for its original purpose, to offer burial space to those who wish to bury their deceased relatives. Is that something that cannot be understood?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
-
One Tree Hill and Camberwell New Cemetery are separeated by One Tree Hill allotments, what you I think refer too as Camberwell New Cemetery is the land adjoining the banking to the side of Platform 1 of Honor Oak Park Railway station. I have not suggested cutting down trees on One Tree Hill and believe the Council should start investigating the potential of reusing graves in Nunhead cemetery which is designated burial space. This in my view could provide years of burial space if done in a sympathetic manner. Tree huggers, choppers or whatever they wish to call themselves I don't mind, but burial and cremation are part of our culture, until you experience bereavement, I doubt people appreciate the importance of having somewhere to mourn your dead relatives if you choose burial as a final resting place for them.
-
Nunhead cemetery is a vast area that is currently full and unused. If graves that are over a certain age and relatives no longer exist, graves could be re-used, with the headstone being turned so it remains and new inscriptions are added to what was the rear and is now the front. Surely this would help alleviate the problem that exists in the borough of a lack of burial space. This practice is already undertaken successfully in other boroughs such as City of London, if they can do it, there is no reason why Southwark cannot do this either. Different countries have different approaches to dealing with death, burial, bereavement and mourning. Some choose burial, others prefer cremation, but here we have choice, democracy, rules, The Law, culture and "this is the way we do things around here". And finally in Camberwell Old Cemetery there are no woods and there have never been any, it's a tree huggers figment of your imagination, and a nightmare is approaching because very, very soon the Council will clear the overgrown scrub land and use it for the purpose it was intended for, row upon row of new graves. And I'll happily applaud them for doing so.
-
Yes, I did copy and paste, however I did this as I am sick to the back teeth of the threads these imbecile tree huggers create about an over grown piece of scrub land that is actually burial space that the Council want to now use and which I totally support them to in doing so. Not only do they purport to be anti-burial but also believe that graves in rows are wrong. This is how cemetery's are now laid out so it is easier to maintain the grass, and if you look at the new graves that have headstones put in place they look quite tidy. Just visit and take a look at some of the older cemetery's like Hither Green where the grass at times around the older graves are so over grown it is a disgrace. If the Council Notice is read in full you will see what the Council are proposing to do, further more I have no problem with graves being re-used. Perhaps if this practice was used in Nunhead cemetery none of the problems of limited grave space would exist in Southwark. These scrub land tree hugger's twist facts for there own benefit and use emotive language in doing so. As I have said previously if the tree hugging scrub land lovers want to enjoy wooded areas than we are more than spoilt for choice, lets start AGAIN with Sydenham Hill Woods that you can see from the Underhill Road/Langton Rise junction, Coxes Walk, One Tree Hill, Horniman nature trail, Horniman Gardens and Park, Peckham Rye Common and Parks and least I forget Brenchley Gardens and just almost a stone throw away is Crystal Palace Park behind Crystal Palace Parade. If you want more have a read of the very recent thread on countryside walks in Kent around Shoreham, (I always thought Shoreham was in Sussex). Maybe the tree hugging scrub land lovers want to be cremated, that's fine be me, but just remember how much energy cremation uses, it's not very green friendly to do so, but I don't have any problems with that either. So for the umpteenth time can I suggest this thread is duly buried.
