I'm not starting a new thread just for this so will stick it in here, besides they contribute to the glut of festive ads. What we always knew Lou, M&S > Iceland...:) https://www.theguardian.com/business/2019/nov/21/supermarket-luxury-mince-pies-ranked

Never really got this living in London ting when it comes to football managers and players, Mourinho's one of the exceptions in that he actually lives in central London, but most other managers and players live miles out in the sticks, the training grounds are miles away too. Once a fortnight they get bussed in to play at home and then they fook off back to their mock tudor mansions and cosy restaurants in Esher. The same applies to Manchester, so not having a dig at London...

Levy's thinking ahead and avoiding compo by only offering Mourinho a 3-year contract, 2 years of improvement before he presses the self-destruct button in the third year. It would also be very Spursy if the manager who always wins a trophy wherever he goes wins booger all... :)

Too early to be falling out over polls, this time at the last election the Tories had an 18pt lead. The first of the TV debates is on tonight followed soon by the launch of the manifestos, so this weekend's polls will give a much better indication of where we're at, and more importantly in what direction...

One of the UK's richest men, Jim Radcliffe, big Brexit backer, fooked off to Monaco not long after the referendum. > and destroy > jobs in the private sector as a result of > nationalisation and companies that move away as > the tax breaks abroad will be better for them When public companies were nationalised we were told no jobs would be lost as workers would simply move sideways from public ownership to private. Why should it be any different in reverse? Again, companies are already going abroad if it suits them, e.g. Dyson, another big Brexit backer, fooking off to Singapore. There's a theme developing... -

This prediction makes no sense, care to explain, say with some approx vote share? I'm no fan of opinion polls but there's a clear trend at the moment that the Tories will win with a majority because they have most of the Leave vote whereas the Remain vote is split. Also, I think it's nigh on impossible for the Tories and BXP to finish first and second for this very reason, they both rely on votes from Leavers but they only make up around 46-48% of the total vote at present. What your prediction is suggesting is that Labour Remain voters will dessert them in droves in favour of the Tories and BXP. Ain't gonna happen...

We only have Brexit chaos because what was promised by the Leave campaign has not been delivered, in effect sticking two fingers up to democracy... -

Austerity was a political choice not an economic one, Hammond when Chancellor later admitted as much when he said public finances are best repaired by a growing economy... ''Get the economy growing faster with higher trend productivity growth...grow the GDP, strong real wage growth, rising living standards'' As for whether austerity worked regarding UK government debt (from ONS)... General government gross debt was ?1,821.3 billion at the end of the financial year ending March 2019, equivalent to 85.2% of gross domestic product (GDP) and 25.2 percentage points above the reference value of 60% set out in the Protocol on the Excessive Deficit Procedure. General government gross debt first exceeded the 60% Maastricht reference value at the end of the financial year ending March 2010, when it was 69.6% of GDP. -

Dulwich & West Norwood Candidates - Green Party vs Labour

I've always voted Labour except in the recent local and European elections, and I don't like Corbyn either, but I'm looking at the bigger picture and the best he can achieve is a coalition gov with the Remain parties, in which he'll have his hands tied as to how much he can do politically. The initial focus of such a coalition will be to have a confirmatory referendum, after which I can easily see the coalition unravel quickly, and Corbyn then retiring to his allotment... -

I'm not sure cancelling Brexit would go down that well, I think most would prefer to do it via a confirmatory referendum rather than a straight revoke, a new ''will of the people'' if you like. This is all semantics anyway as the LDs won't win this GE, the best chance for Remainers is a Labour led coalition, and I hope most people relaise that and vote accordingly... -

The Lib Dems had zilch chance of winning (35,000 behind Labour) that's why they stood down... -
I'd be wary of polls this GE as it must be difficult to allow for the nuances of tactical voting, which you're going to see a lot of in this GE. The fact is the Tories need to gain seats, the BXP pulling out of seats the Tories already hold doesn't add to the gains needed, in fact the reality is that they are likely to lose a number of them to the Lib Dems and SNP regardless. So that leaves the Labour held marginals where the Tories have to make their gains, yet the BXP has said they won't pull out of these seats...

Well, I don't like Corbyn but I'm prepared to vote Labour for reasons above. Ideally he'll lead a coalition Gov, have a confirmatory referendum, then there'll probably be another GE... -
Survation were the closest pollsters in the 2017 GE, doesn't mean they will be again, but YouGov pols have a rep for being outliers, they predicted a 7% lead for the Tories but it was only 2.5%...
