RE: Robbed (between the supermarket and Dog Kennel Hill)
Ladymuck replied to Pirate78's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I am truly sorry...that's an AWFUL thing to have happen to you. However, and I don't mean to sound unsympathetic here, but do I presume you are male? The reason I ask is that no sane female would use that shortcut after dark...why is it then that men feel that they can? I tell my hubby off for this very thing...he doesn't listen of course, stating the usual macho stuff about being able to handle himself yada yada. Please guys...don't do it...if there's a group of lads...you've little chance of getting away unhurt and with all your belongings. OK, lecture over...now that it's happened please look after yourself a little better and recover quickly. And my apologies if you happen to be female...though the same advice would apply of course. -

Hope today is better though.

Good grief! I return only to discover depression, drunkenness, raised insulin levels due to excessive consumption of Mars Bars, and somebody has snuffed it - to boot! LB, I'm sorry you've had such a rotten day. Why not write up your bucket list...it may sound a little nuts but I found that it focussed the mind, placed things into perspective, reminded me of what I have to be thankful for, and it has given me things to look forward to. Then, have an early(ish - have just seen time) night and remember that tomorrow is a brand new day...that in itself is amazing - isn't it? (*gives LB a BIG FAT hug*). xx Brum: I meant it. Karter: hmmmm...I'll deal with you later...I'll give you "mucky"...you...you...ahem...(*tries to recover composure*)...

Well, I'm really going for it...may as well...concentrate on being alive - as a dear forumite (you know who you are) recently suggested to me. Fortunately, as I already have the hubby of my dreams and some pretty amazing friends...I am in a good position to ask for lots of other stuff. So, being a greedy wotsit: - see my friend Fran's breast cancer fully clear so that she may live a full and healthy life - ditto my friend Verena who is currently in remission with myeloid leukaemia - and also (gosh this certainly helps to put things into perspective) my friend Joan - also in remission with bone cancer - see my sweet little niece Louise recover quickly from having been knocked down by a speeding car yesterday - watch my nieces and nephews grow into happy and healthy adults and hope they will always call me Aunty Mimi - hope that my brother's business expands so that life isn't quite as financially challenging as now - hope that my sister can give up the booze before it kills her - hope that hubby gets the job of his dreams - ditto another forum buddy (I hope you know who you are) - hope that, yet another forum-friend, achieves the "domestic bliss" he so desperately wishes - hope that M's divorce is as painless as possible and that she finds happiness with a new partner quickly - hope that the gap between rich and poor closes world-wide - spend at least one month in Antartica and drink in its beauty - learn how to swim in deep water - learn Mandarin - learn how to fish - swim in a clean river and/or lake - swim/play naked in the sea with hubby on a deserted beach - see a puffin - play in a women's football team and end up beating West Ham in the FA Cup final (just for you ????!);-) Keep editing...as keep adding stuff.

stalkers - you haven't arrived until you've got one!

Pugwash, Oh, that can't be much fun. Unable to help you with regard to your request. But, just wanted to wish you a very speedy recovery from the surgery. I also hope that your new diet doesn't spoil your enjoyment of eating (and life in general) too much. xx

RosieH Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Or now that LM's expressed her disapproval on the > subject of stalking, wouldn't that be allowed? I am at a loss as to what you could be getting at here. However, for the record, I do not believe I expressed disapproval on the subject of stalking. I contributed to LE's stalking thread giving my experience of being stalked at the age of 16. I did so because I wished to make the point that I did not find stalking/stalkers funny. This is very different to expressing disapproval on the subject. And please, be clear, I have absolutely no objection to LE's thread.

I wasn't actually looking for any sympathy, but simply felt a strong urge to make the point that I simply do not (cannot) find stalkers/stalking funny. Sorry. xx -

stalkers - you haven't arrived until you've got one!

Well, I had a stalker many years ago. I was only 16 and the psychopath stalked me for two long years. I found it to be a very intimidating and degrading experience. I would open my curtains in the morning and the controlling B-RSTARD would be there...outside, across the road looking up towards my bedsit. Then the creep would follow me to work...he would actually sit behind me on the bus. Then when I went out for lunch the pervert would appear from nowhere and follow me everywhere and then back to work. Come home time, him with the personality disorder would follow me home again. I used to try every trick in the book to get rid of this obsessive...e.g. I took to sprinting when on foot in the hope I would lose him, or I would race up/down stairs/escalators in the hope that he would get a heart attack. It even got to the stage where I would time making a mad dash across a fast flowing and exceedingly busy road in the hope that he would get knocked down. I never succeeded, but the murderous thoughts were there. Not nice I know, but that freak made my life hell. For those reasons I do not find stalking remotely funny...but each to their own eh? -
