Oh dear... I am definitely having one of those days (see Football Focus thread if you can be bothered)...:( I am genuinely sorry mockney piers. I made a simple mistake...(the correct spelling of) "marvellous" came up with the squiggly line and, for some reason (unclear to me) I automatically assumed it was incorrect and therefore changed it. I honestly didn't intend to "take you to task"...I didn't think...I was on auto-pilot... My apologies.

Anyway, I am now especially delighted over the fact that we now appear to have FOUR Man. U supporters on this thread. How cool is that!

Blimey Mockney Piers, you have gone to a great deal of trouble (for which I thank you). However, being a computer-nitwit my pea-brain has gone into meltdown. I shall have to wait till Lordmuck has a spare moment to look at your responses. But, I appreciate your efforts.

I have to say...this isn't the most welcoming of threads though - generally. It should be a nice friendly thread and included in that should be plenty of friendly piss-taking about each other's teams...all part of the fun I would have thought. Certainly, whenever I have piss-taked (piss-took?) I have meant it in jest. But then one man's joke is another man's abuse and vice versa...oh Lord I'm wittering on...I'll just go away...

Actually - no...(sorry mockney piers)...I have failed at the first hurdle... Where is "the site using the marvelous firebug" please? It is not where I thought it would be.
  15. Oh dear... Well I suppose that has told me then:(

Brendan Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > The issue people are shouting about in Britain at > the moment is the already large and growing gap > between the rich and poor. People in general pay lip service to poverty, lack of equal opportunity, social immobility and the like, in reality they do not appear to give a monkey's about the plight of the poor.
  17. Atila can be quite funny though...as can Hatche... erm...Jimmy Two Times. In fact I think the pair of them are quite hilarious and misunderstood a lot of the time. But then, having (I am persistently told) a very strange sense of humour myself, who the hell am I to comment - eh? Bye the way, nice to see another Man. U supporter today (hello Red Devil). Is that a grand total of 3 Man. U supporters on this thread now? (Excluding closet supporters of course)?

  19. Found this article...it's a little old, but interesting and pertinent to this discussion: http://careers.guardian.co.uk/careers-blog/the-social-worth-of-your-job-harry-freedman
  20. Guess that makes me a commie too then Brendan as I happen to agree with DC.

Thank you Admin, but - nope...you are going to have to rack those brains a little further.;-) I am aware of the "blue thing" when using the back button...in which case the "new" reverts to red once the forward button is used. This is different. Here, when I go to a page containing lots of little red "new" messages, I may on occasion amongst the "reds" find a blue "new" - nothing to do with going back. It could happen when I first log on. For example, one thread where this may readily be seen at present is on the "Equality" thread in the Drawing Room. It isn't really a problem (and this certainly isn't a complaint or anything). However, (a) I am curious and (b) it is a little difficult to see by virtue of the fact that it is blue. But no matter really. Life's too short.

  24. busymum Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Hi, I'm thinking of cycling into work. My advice would be to get yourself the relevant TFL cycle maps. They are free. You can do this by phone (or even possibly on-line) by contacting Transport for London. Enjoy your commute.

Do you mean: (a) a woman who has been married for 20 years or (b) a woman who is 20 but married (for any number of years)? Either way, it still rules us both out!! However, if your heart is set on performing the...ahem...role...I am sure there wouldn't be (too many) objections!:))
