Our honey bees are disappearing/dying at an alarming rate

Phew! A "classic" case...? Einstein's words or not...? These are interesting points Huguenot. However, to (respectfully;-)) revert to the original point, is our Government's ?2million for research/action plan sufficient? Or is it too late? -

I wonder if this is due to Dulwichquine...her thread "are you waiting for a post office parcel"? If so thank you and jolly well done dulwichquine ...maybe now the sorting office will be shamed into providing a proper service. Admin: is it possible to merge the various threads relating to EDF on the 6.00pm news, please? There are quite a few of them now. Thanks.

...extracted from the above article provided by Crona: "The question constantly asked by Sacha Baron Cohen?s subversive Ali G character keeps coming back to me: ?Is it ?cos I is black?? And the answer in this case is probably yes..." When the prize was announced, my immediate thought was that this was probably a token gesture based on Obama's ethnicity...I in fact said so to my husband (who happens to be black)...but couldn't summon sufficient courage to post this somewhat negative and unattractive view on the Forum. The above article has now changed this and I feel strangely relieved knowing that I am not the only who entertained such a thought. Did anyone else? If this is the case, then Obama should return the purported "prize".

Einstein once said that if the bee disappeared off the face of the earth, that "man would only have four years of life left. No more bees, no more pollination, no more plants, no more animals, no more man." Whether this 4-year prediction is accurate is debatable. However, given that honey bees pollinate over two-thirds of our crops, the implications for our food security are worrying. Our Government has pledged ?2 million for research as well as put together a sort of action plan aimed at reversing this trend. Is this enough or are we already too late?

Why wait for the prune which may never arrive when you have the chance of a bite at the succulent plum now? If you get on with him - what's a few years? I have 2 sets of friends who have juicy plums for husbands...one involves a 10-year age difference, the other a 17-year difference...both couples are very happily married. Go for the plum before someone beats you to it... Oh, and enjoy!

An update on my nematodes. 3 parcels arrived today...1 which was sent beg. Sept...the other 2 which were replacements sent mid. Sept...still one missing...opened one up...WHAT A PONG...the nematodes are dead and the product completely useless...now have to ring the company up for a refund...though I do not believe that it is they that should have to foot the bill. -
Good Lord! What Iaineasy said. Hope you've got over the initial shock - never nice knowing a stranger has got into your property.
