Now that WOULD be funny (subjectively speaking, of course;-))

That's the (Christmas) spirit Mockney...good on you..."tis the season..."

Bellenden Belle Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- In order to avoid repetition, could I respectfully refer you to previous postings - where I have dealt with the issues of "subjectivity" (is there such a word?) and the PM facility. Thanks.

SeanMacGabhann Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Funnily enough most of those definitions do > describe all to well the level of conversation > that anna has referred to ladym, and not as you > appear to be insinuating, anna herself Sean, it's all very much subjective...i.e. what one might consider "witty", "dull" (or whatever), another might find "crass", "exciting" etc....that's what makes an individual

> To be fair (to me), I was responding to a Forum posting...had a PM been sent, I would, naturally, have replied by PM. However, in all fairness (to you)...you've HAVE raised a valid point. I wasn't suggesting they were. I couldn't agree more. I hope not! I wasn't suggesting that either...my comment utilises the word "small" (twice)...moreover, it makes quite clear that I am speaking only for myself. Also, don't you think (when speaking of sums of money) that what constitutes a "small fortune" to one person does not necessarily mean the same thing to another...i.e. it's all subjective. In other words, ?25 on getting a cut and blow dry may appear quite prohibitive to (e.g.) a single mum or someone who has been made redundant, whilst to a highflying executive in the 40% tax bracket it may not.

One does one's best... I know what you mean...twas extremely dull "cutting and pasting" that lot...[runs off chuckling]

...oooh, we've forgotten the MESSY LITTER-LOUT who thinks nothing of throwing on the floor his half consumed bottle of fizzy pop so that it rolls incessantly all over the bus eventually spilling out all over the place...

> Oh annaj...words actually fail me...and that takes SOME doing Yes, I REALISE that [HUGE WEARY SIGH]...just a figure of speech my dear...that's all...are you ALWAYS this nitpicking and pedantic? But, as you've expressed some interest in my comment (to Monica)...my personal view is that I wouldn't wish to feel under pressure to squander a small fortune on "glamming up" just for a few hours...this is merely MY view, and I appreciate that many ladies would jump at the chance to blow a small sum on a new frock, getting their hair done (or whatever)...it's just not for me...I'm happier pottering around in a pair of "crocs" or in "wellies" digging up spuds on my allotment! Hope I've cleared matters up for you.

monica Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > lady muck are you going to the December drinks? You know, you REALLY should give the EDF drinks a try, they are ENORMOUS fun [AREN'T THEY EVERYBODY!] - you would have a BALL, and - boy - would they love YOU!! Go on, come to the next one...

Oh well, as we're clearly on a "roll" here, how about the THOUGHTLESS CRETINS who gorge themselves on KFC and then throw the resultant rubbish on the floor (bones and all) for all and sundry to slip over.

Oh, and we must not forget the inconsiderate pillock who sits in the "priority" seat and refuses to budge when an elderly lady/man, pregnant mum etc, who very obviously needs the seat, wishes to sit down

Domitianus...I am extremely disappointed that you haven't added to your extensive list "feet on seats"...could it be because you are one of "those people" who partake in this activity?;-)

I don't think it IS just you PeckhamRose. I for one do not believe it is right that CB should be paid out irrespective of means. In fact, the thought that I might possibly be contributing to a well-to-do family's next ski-ing trip makes me more than a little cross.

The latest statistics from Defra on the growth of organic food production suggest that it is actually on the up rather than in decline. How then do we reconcile these statistics with media reports that the recession has seen a drop in the number of customers prepared to pay for organic food?

I could come as one of the HOBBITS...easy...at 5 feet nothing I could come as I am...nor would I need to shave my legs! A saving of at least half an hour...which means more drinking time and more fun. Which hobbit though?
