  1. WHAT! No Monkeys? (Welcome back Waynetta). Mushroom sauce karter? A bit seventies that...have you tried googling - you lazy git?;-)
  2. Thanks VBC...they'll be even better next time. You looked pretty awesome yourself last night! x
  3. Well, I think I might have been overly critical about the brownies earlier as I have just returned from the celebrations with an empty platter! Certainly the cocoa levels were spot on! So thanks to all of you who assisted during a moment of panic. xx
  4. Thank you all for your kind words. The saddest thing of all is that her death was totally preventable. Still, moving on...
  5. *overtakes Mr. Quids at lightening speed, shoves him out of the way, and then strikes* 100
  6. Being a lbs and oz person rather than metric, that is very useful cate. Thanks. I think I may well have a 1oz measuring spoon too!

A difficult but really personal story. My mother suffered with extremely regular migraines. Various GPs prescribed "conventional" medicine: painkillers, anti-depressants, sleeping tablets and goodness knows what else - despite the fact that, at the time, the fact that this cocktail of medication could lead to depression and suicide was well documented. She eventually killed herself by throwing herself under a train. I now suffer from the same migraines and, incredibly, have been offered similar medication.

  9. Well I've just tasted one...edible, but not exactly orgasmilicious. A bit disappointing TBH. :( I might well pass them off as the East Dulwich Deli's! Hopefully next time will be better. But thanks again, everyone. I couldn't have asked for a speedier response. I love this Forum.
  10. *sees Mick Mac's and The Queen's posts* Oh SHIT!
  11. Actually, someone did that to me once - with fudge - without telling me...I was well out of it... So Loz, what's an eighth of weed in terms of grams? Just in case...

  13. *cracks up laughing* I may well have done, but can't remember that far back - you cheeky sod! Nice to see you back BTW.
  14. Well they are out of the oven...smell divine. Look OK too. Now have to wait 10 mins. before (carefully) turning out. Oooh the excitement!
  15. Thanks all the same Jeremy (as with Matthew123's suggestion), these are tips which I would employ next time around. Nice of you to post the suggestion.
  16. Five more minutes and they have to come out of the oven...am a bit apprehensive. *more praying to the non-existent Gods*
  17. Ha ha Cassius! I actually did "crack up" at my wedding...and was severely chided by the Registrar who said: "I would remind the young bride that this is a very solemn ceremony". Told me! LOL! Makes me laugh even now.
  18. I hope you are right - otherwise I would be too embarrassed to take them along:(
  19. Right! They are in the oven. The only fear I have now is that the mix looked a bit "flat". Presumably that was because it had been left standing for too long while I faffed about with the 25g issue. We'll see. Also thanks to VBC and Matthew123 - I was too panicked to respond to your helpful posts earlier. *crosses fingers and prays to the non-existent Gods*
  20. Thank you EDKiwi - the site quotes 4 level tablespoons which seems a hell of a lot. I shall therefore compromise and go for one giant heaped tablespoon. MANY THANKS ALL OF YOU - WHAT A FABULOUS RESPONSE. BIG HUGS AND XXXXX *rushes back to kitchen*
  21. Thanks everyone - so are we in agreement? ONE HEAPED TABLE SPOON? And Mr. Pallywotsitpoos - thanks for the advice, but these brownies are made from the heart for a very special group of people. As good as the EDD brownies are, they would not contain that special ingredient (love). Please confirm. *still panicking*
  22. How sure are you Mick Mac? They are for 2 really special occasions. (Thanks by the way x) *Still panicking*
  23. I am panicking! I am in the last stages of making some rather special chocolate brownies for a double celebration drinks party this evening (a birthday/an engagement). I was just about to add/sift the last ingredient into the mix - 25g of cocoa - when it dawned on me that 25g doesn't show up on my scales (it's too small an amount). Nor do I possess a 25g spoon. Could someone tell me - what the hell is 25g? I.e. would a teaspoon do it (though I doubt it, or the recipe would have said so - it did in the case of salt)? THIS IS URGENT: the mix (including the eggs) has been beaten etc. It just needs the addition of the cocoa and to go into the oven. Thanks in advance. xxxxx
  24. Azul, I don't suppose you would mind posting an update of the current situation in Lagos - once you have settled in, of course? From time to time, my husband receives calls from agencies re. contract work there. Each time that happens it appears, to me anyhow, that the temptation to go increases. Frightens the life out of me TBH. Thanks. And good luck to you! Return safely.
