Yes, but I have always suspected he would be ok with cooked butter, ie however they won at too challenge milk, which if don't feel comfortable with, and my instincts tend to be right....

Thanks for the feedbCk. All the issues seem to be with milk rather than butter as I had suspected. It seems that butter seems ok for you midyfdale but milk and yoghurt more problematic.

Has anyone who has a child with dairy allergies been successful with the baked milk challenge? Is you child now able to tolerate all cooked dairy without serious reaction or eczema?

Does anyone know of this secluded tranquil gardens somewhere around here......or is it to remain a secret amongst those that want to keep it so ;)

As far as I am aware homework at that age is not compulsory. It could depend on the school but check. Even so, if it`s too much for your child, due to tiredness or indeed otherwise, you could just ask the school if she has to do it and state your reasons for not doing it, if you so choose, or at least reducing it.... there are all sorts of ways to do the work in a fun way without sitting down with pen and paper. if you are worried about her falling behind perhaps you can do it that way, if you feel she can catch up when she is ready, then leave it alone altogether? It depends on your viewpoint as well as the school, ....I think we have more of a say at these early stages, so worth investigating

Any luck with reflexology to induce labour?
bodsier replied to lilygogan's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I trained in maternity reflexology and though I think it's a wonderful effective treatment for all sorts if health issues, but really, baby comes when it is ready. In such cases Reflexology helps to ease any stress and anxiety about giving birth, which in itself can delay the process. It is beneficial, but not does not always induce labour. -
Has anyone been fined for parking by mistake at herne hill station? I am in the process of going to a second appeal and just wanted to get an idea of how common it is to make this mistake when all the other bays are 30 minute bays. According to the shop keepers it is extremely common. Cant really see the point of a 5 minute bay anyway it serves neither the shops, the potential customers nor people coming in from the station if trains are late....Anyone who has been affected by this please say 'aye'

I don't go near it,,,, sorry can't help. As far as I am concerned they changed a great space where kids could play independently whilst you relaxed on the grass and looked out for them in a relaxed space, to a really confined space where you are constantly looking out to find your child, and a water pump that wasn't working when I last went a few years ago. It was far from tranquil the last time I went...doubt it is now.

Book of poems for dying/deceased child
bodsier replied to bodsier's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Thank you Cora, it sounds like it is worth taking a look at, though I don't think it is the one I had in mind. For some reason 'rose' springs to mind.... Though your link does provide me with possibilities if I don't find precisely what I am after. Much appreciated.... -

Organising a big household /me full time in work
bodsier replied to Fuschia's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I hate to do this....somehow it feels like I am perpetuating womens inequality ...but it helped me to figure out where to start....I guess the way round it is to ensure that everyone who is capable knows the routine (even a child can wipe down a sink) and tidy their room..... Easy steps helps, but decluttering essential.... http://www.flylady.net -
Last year, on the radio I heArd an interview with w woman who had written opens for her dying/deceased child. It was released in about September last year. Does anyone recall who the author was and what it was called? Be most grateful if you do or know of other books like this you would recommend? Many thanks

My experience with mings has been very positive. We know exactly what my son is allergic to following tests and have annual screening to see if anything has changed. No it's not always conclusive, this is why if readings are low after prick test, they challenge the foodstuff incrementally under hospital conditions, it's always worked for us. Please don't be put off Rolo. That is what the Nhs is for.

I am a bit concerned that you should have to go to a private clinic to address what could be a fatal condition. I am aware that cuts have been made within the NHS which means doctors now have meetings before they will refer patients. Though this may be reasonable in cone cases, I really think it's unacceptable in this case. I would Insist on a referral to kings, because it's important to be aware of what he is allergic to. Reactions can vary, and can worsen with each reaction. Breathing difficulties are or at least were(before the cuts)considered to be dangerous, and would always be referred in the past. I would never allow them to fob me off with any thing other than a referral. Stick to your guns, trust your instincts.

bodsier replied to bodsier's topic in The Lounge
Thought as much, thanks for all the advice. :) -
Has anyone gone the militant route and written that they refuse to pay a private pRking ticket. I got one in Hayes close, where the signs are not obvious in my opinion.. Did you refuse to pay or appeal successfully?

How to diagnose pet allergy in a baby
bodsier replied to jennyh's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hi Jenny My son has a number of allergies, cats being one of them. At the time because it was serious,(and pre recession) he got seen very quickly by allergy specialists and tested. First thing to do is contact your gp.... It is worth getting the ball rolling as there could be an allergy to dairy or other things and and they will test all suspect foods such as nuts etc. often people are allergic to more than one thing. If your child is having difficulty breathing this is clearly serious, and they would act quickly I would have thought. Especially as his condition could worsen the longer he has contact with them. In the meantime Steam clean all your carpets, and avoid cuddly toys in his room. Regular hoovering, would definitely help. When you see your gp perhaps it's worth mentioning dairy and ask if it's ok to switch to goats milk to see if it makes a difference and how long you cando that for that whilst ensuring baby gets the necessary nutrients. The first allergy I discovered was eggs, so my son had no milk or dairy products until the test was done,,,, turned out he was allergic to dairy. Hope it gets dealt with promptly. But please see the medics. -
