  1. Expensive slippers!
  2. Hmmn I'm not sure about uggs on anyone (although I do see the cosy appeal) so I'm very sceptical of mens uggs but each to their own etc.
  3. A Portrait - hang a garish frame round your neck and adopt a suitable pose Following the Pea idea A Pee and wear all yellow Since there's 2 of you - A Pair of something.
  4. That is brilliant
  5. Oh good, thanks KK
  6. I always thought dogs at stations were primarily there to sniff for explosives or traces of explosives on people. Now I feel silly.
  7. Note you still have to touch out after they've used one of those hand held readers to check your ticket
  8. aawwww she's too cute - congratulations to you both.
  9. because it's a duplicated thread.
  10. 10 days in a fish and chip van at the southampton boat show. Fell over and landed in a bucket of fish. The mush peas heater thing exploded out the peas straight into my hair just as I was re-adjusting my lovely hat. Got my security pass (that was around my neck) in the deep fat fryer for 5mins. Had to throw away all my clothes after because of the smell and my car never really recovered from the smell of me after work. Lots of rich wankers moaning about the queues and treating us like imbeciles and I'm ashamed to admit that I did tell one that he was such a wanker that he was lucky I hadn't spat in his food! Cleaning out the pic 'n mix in woolworths - full of dead flies! Selling porn and diesel to lorry drivers on the M27. Events waitressing when I turned up to a job and was presented with an anne summers mrs santa outfit that only just covered my bum. Working at the student union and falling over in a pile of sick. My list could go on forever.
  11. man killed chasing a bag snatcher article very sad
  12. Green Goose I had a similar problem on the DLR a couple of years ago, I tapped in got to the platform to discover there wasn't a DLR for half an hour. I asked the ticket man what to do and he said something about having to wait 20mins for it to let you tap out again at the same station. Ridiculous. I ended up waiting the half an hour I think. That was a while ago though so things might have changed. Also if your card is registered (or maybe just any card) then you can in theory ring the oyster hotline and explain and hope they refund you the money they charge you for not touching out somewhere else.
  13. Now I'm jealous of your new locks etc. ontheedge, I didn't get offered any of that a couple of months ago when it happened to me. But, the police did catch my man and he went to court a couple of weeks ago so all round (apart from the free locks bit) a job well done. Sorry to hear you were burgled steph and I hope you feel comfortable in your home again very soon.
  14. ooh I've often wondered that too - thanks
  15. see here: sainsbury's local thread
  16. I open the baliff letters that keep coming for the previous occupant but I don't want someone taking away all my stuff. My mum said there's some form that exists (no idea where you get it from though) that you send to somewhere to get only your name associated with the property. I think it's quite a common problem. Sorry that wasn't much help but I tried! Good luck
  17. Sorry I don't know what that route is like but I thought I'd point out that some venues who don't offer refunds are because of the snow. Odeon refunded me my cinema tickets from last night so the theatre might let you change dates if you don't want to risk the snow/ice. Good luck.
  18. Just got off train from lb to ed bit delayed and rammed but am posting because the exit from station is treacherous so if you're unsteady on your feet do not get off here! People holding onto the chicken wire to get down slope.
  19. Gah I can't decide if I should head home now or stick it out because I have non refundable cinema tickets for tonight in town. Last time it snowed like this were there any trains running at all? Thanks
  20. Listening to my boss snoring at the desk next to me.

I don't agree with the HIV Hep B argument, but could be a case of thinking blood on the floor wasn't what shoppers want to see. > I've no idea, I don't work in a Supermarket but I > do find some of the criticisms a little harsh. 22. Fair enough and thatnks for the clarification, I just thought it might be a case of there is a significant risk to themselves, in this case glass as a weapon, then they would have to wait for the police. I hope they get paid well!
  23. Wow what a lady Nikki is, I'm glad she's ok. I don't think a security guards job should involve breaking up fights since they could end up seriously injured, they are probably trained not to intervene but to call the police. Sorry that was slightly off topic and I'm just speculating.
  24. Thanks JohnL for the info
  25. Thanks Greg, maybe I just missed the notice.
