  1. I can't see any reason for it to loop. It would need to operate in both directions or how would someone travelling from Red Post Hill to Sainsburys do the reverse journey ? Operating in both directions would require a separate route number eg 42a. Can't see TfL buying to this.
  2. Also spoke to Virgin last night. After the usual palaver about testing the equipment they agreed that the speed was very low - I'm getting around 1.5-2M - should be 50M. As others have said its a capacity issue and the person I spoke to said that it was expected to be resolved during the first week of February. I won't hold my breath. Standard compensation is paid from the date of making a complaint so I'd advise you to ring sooner rather than later if you're having problems.
  3. "Get 5% AER current account interest on balances up to ?2,000 plus 5% cashback on your first ?100 of contactless payments every month. To earn interest (which is paid monthly) just pay in a minimum of ?500 a month and register for Internet Banking, Paperless Statements and Paperless Correspondence. No interest is paid on your balance over ?2,000." So, currently max gross interest of ?160 per year (?100 + 12 x ?5) or about ?13 a month. I imagine this is a teaser offer to get people to open accounts that is likely to be withdrawn as some not-to-distant point in the future. Not saying that you shouldn't go for it just being clear on the benefits for the wider audience.

  6. Also worth mentioning that bus will be double decker not single and that it will no longer travel via Sunray Avenue but Red Post Hill instead. This will require alterations to the Red Post Hill road layout.
  7. If you look at the link from RD above it shows the difference between a one-way and two-way switch - essentially a two way switch has three terminals and a one way has two. Regardless unless you thoroughly understand how your lighting cabling works and how its all connected I wouldn't recommend a DIY approach. Another page from RD's link shows how two two-way switches are wired. http://www.lightwiring.co.uk/two-way-switching-3-wire-system-new-harmonised-cable-colours/
  8. AM - just because the switch is two-way doesn't mean it'll operate a single light with another two-way switch. It has to be wired to do so. I doubt that the double gang switch has one single-way and one double-way. More likely is that the 2nd floor switch is single-way or that it's double-way but they are not wired to both operate the light.
  9. ..and that discussion of a yellow box junction in Holborn is way off topic.

  12. You can suggest a location using the website here: https://www.cyclehoop.rentals/suggest-location/ Interestingly there is also a map of all the locations that have already been suggested.
  13. I don't think that DHFC is in James's Ward - I think its in South Camberwell.
  14. According to this site http://www.cyclehoop.rentals/ it's ?35 per year.
  15. A cycle store has arrived at the end of Thorncombe Road near the junction with Hillsboro?. I haven?t seen these anywhere else in ED ? has anyone else ?
  16. We have an AEG condensor. Probably common sense but the only things I would say is buy the most energy efficient you can if you intend to use it a lot as they eat electricity. Secondly buy the best brand you can (Miele/AEG) afford for the sake of reliability.
  17. Jazz. Pretty much all sh1te. Especially that Miles Davis fella.
  18. There is also a banner on the railings of the gardens at the junction of Bellenden and Highshore near the mini roundabout.
  19. No - there's a noticeboard on the route somewhere that I saw and then checked out the Southwark website.
  20. I huge thank you to the cyclist that found and returned my wallet that had dropped from my bike pannier on Monday. Please do get in touch if you read this.

What evidence do you have ? There is an open consultation - anyone can reply.

You wanted the convenience of parking close to the post office rather than parking further away and walking. That's a privilege you have to pay for. Tough.
  23. If you can afford to run a car then you can afford the cost of motoring regardless of your age. You have broken the law. Pay up.
  24. A beta version of the EDF on a new platform was posted about last year. Is this still on the cards and if so is there a timescale ?
  25. OK - I'll have to agree to differ with those that feel it is unsafe for cyclists. As I said above I use this route most days in each direction and never have a problem with the speed of other vehicles - there are a number of quite vicious speed humps to slow the traffic down. I think the issue should be tackled differently in this instance. Realistically it's never going to be the case that all of London's roads have dedicated cycle paths so that you can get from A to B without avoiding vehicular traffic. I would prefer that money was put into training new or nervous cyclists to ride safely and confidently on the existing road infrastructure. I know that schemes already exist for this but they should be given more investment and more publicity. How about having "cycle leaders" on popular routes. They could be used to lead groups of less confident cyclists on a route into and out of town, maybe for a week or two by which time I think one should be ready to go it alone. I am not against changing the road infrastructure to make cycling safer just that in this instance I think the money could be better spent.
