    seacow

I drink wine with everything and nobody said anything about being better than anyone else because of a once in a while scoff at the seacow. I think english fish & chips are disgusting, very rarely fresh fish which is why the seacow is nice. I eat a good old greasy fish supper in a proper chippy when I go home to Scotland. Nobody said the seacow is trying to be a traditional fish & chip shop, it's offering something better. You don't have to be health freak to want decent quality food and a real health freak would not go to the seacow.

    seacow

I like the sea cow - you can get a nice slice of fresh tuna with some chips and a glass of wine. better than a greasy battered bit of frozen cod with greasy squishy chips and not that much more expensive. Only downside is you come out smelling like a fry up.

  8. How about you choose again Michael P. I'll definitely do it this weekend. Sainsbury's is closing on Wednesday this week until the 28th so we either must buy elsewhere or go in next couple of days for the wine. Actually I was thinking about giving up alcohol altogether for the sake of my liver after quite a heavy weekend on the sauce. But maybe I could just try to ration myself, 2 glasses max.
  9. and filled my belly with ale
  10. I'm going out today all day and would go in on the way to get them but Sainsbury's on a sunday is a no go area as it seems to be a popular family day out for some reason and is to be avoided at all costs. Gosh, that was a long sentence, should have had some punctuation. sorry, we'll be back on for next week.
  11. Well my hairdresser owns the salon so I reckon he's in the well off category too and does not need a tip. Anyway, I only have my hair cut twice a year so probably adds up to roughly the same as a guy paying a tenner for a cut every month. Does not necessarily put me in the well off bracket. I tip restaurant staff and taxi drivers.
  12. my hairdresser charges me ?70 - certainly not going to give him a tip as well.
  13. just noticed Spooniferous wants to get to M4 - my route will not help there then! I must pay attention.
  14. Not gonna make this weeks tasting now, no chance to get to sainsbos and out to lunch tomorrow. Have to be next week. I will be interested to hear your thoughts on the old v new wines though Mr Paleontologist. who's choosing next week? (only about 5 of us doing this - yet to catch on it seems)

    Pocket Money

I give my 10 year old ?2. But - he has to ask for it along the lines of monopoly and he usually forgets ha ha. May raise it to ?3 when 11. I also make him do a chore for his money - latest is mopping the floors which he does without too much fuss. what with that and the constant quids he gets after school for choccy, probably adds up to about a tenner a week.
  16. One day down at the boot sale
  17. Oh My Goodness, I just realised I spelled metre in the American fashion above, don't know what came over me. I'm surprised no one had a go. Just realised again - meter is spelled that way. Bit hungover this morning.
