  1. that say no to 0870 one is brilliant - have bookmarked it.
  2. To be honest, in re: the midwife thing, through both my labours I could not have cared less who was with me as I was so focussed on the labour. Obviously I realise everyone is different but I would say don't get hooked on the idea of having the same midwife. They are all qualified to do the job.
  3. but it is better than if they never found her
  4. Congratulations! what sort of advice do you want?
  5. scottish/english/welsh - does that make me british?
  6. ha ha - lived there for many years - glad to see the back of it.

  11. ok, was meant to be a loose pointer and it's a bit tricky getting the das to da da properly in type. You have done a masterful job though - well done. (tu)
  12. The bus takes ages as it has to go down the wonderful Walworth Rd. If there was no traffic it would take about 30 mins. The train times may seem short but you have to build in the time getting to and from stations, changing platforms and waiting for trains. Cycling will be your quickest option - no contest, with the added benefit of being cheaper, keeps you fit and is evironmentally friendly.
  13. and started to sing
  14. you could easily be looking at an hour for the 176 journey in rush hour. bike would take me 30 mins, mr Asset does it in about 20 (but he wears lycra, although does stop at red lights)
  15. are doing it on their own terms
  16. ------------------------------------------------------ > The boosboss Wrote: > > The wikapedia discription of Pit Bull type which > includes Staffordshire Bull Terriers, may have > some credance in the US, but that description is > not recognised by any official UK agency, be it > government or animal welfare. > Couldn't go without popping this on for Boosboss: Section 1 of the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 relates to dogs of the type known as the pit bull terrier. The High Court has decided that for a dog to be a pit bull type, it must have a substantial number of the physical characteristics of a pit bull terrier. These characteristics are listed in a number of places, and probably the most comprehensive (and that generally relied on by Courts) is the American Dog Breeders Association?s Basis of Conformation for the American Pit Bull Terrier. This is a functional standard which describes the ideal, and so the dog does not have to conform in every detail to be regarded as a pit bull type. DEFRA has produced guidance which summarises some of the main physical aspects of a pit bull terrier From the Kennel Club.
  17. no war of attrition
  18. I lived at the Elephant & Castle for many years before ED and it was like a war zone with helicopters and sirens. It's positively quiet here compared.
  19. the exactly was to the previous post! Ganapati, as I said I've given my son a fear of wasps by myself freaking out like a lunatic whenever one comes near, I can't help it, and I have seen parents engendering a fear of dogs in their children by being fearful themselves. I didn't mean all fear stems from the parents or that all parents do it. Anyway I'm bored with this thread now and won't be coming back - see you all somewhere else.......
  20. exactly - as I said about 2 million pages earlier, health and safety gone mad. Man's best friend and all that.......
  21. Louisiana has been fantastically unlucky and I empathise with her but I've managed to get through my life without once being attacked by dogs as have most people. Not intended to be an inflammatory comment before anyone gets their knickers in a twist, just another observation.
  22. oh my gawd - not that tired old comment again, come on people get real. Cars kill far more children than dogs!
  23. *wonders if Tillie is doing aforementioned boot sale*
  24. *pours Tillie a glass from bottle pilfered from citizenED's crate* *puts fingers on lips in gesture to stop singing*
