I pay ?422 pa for joint buildings and contents ?500k & ?60k respectively with Legal & General. I've got a few years ncd but that's a scam anyway probably. 3 bed terraced. (1960's)
Savacentre is Sainsbury's under another guise I believe. Only a few hours to go now until the grand reopening - are they having a special do with free drinks for the first hundred customers etc? Anyone know? If they are I may go tomorrow.
I think the only criterion for not being an incomer is if you undertake your secondary education here, although where that is going to occur I'm not sure given the dirth of state secondary schools in ED.
well exactly Jah, personally I think it is all a load of rubbish. I had thought this thread was started as a joke but realise that it wasn't. Maybe I should move back to Scotland.
poor incomers are still incomers CWALD. I too am not a wealthy incomer but I think it makes no difference. I'm an incomer to London as well - moved here from Scotland over 20 years ago. I think our offspring will be ok as according to previous posts the requirement for being a local is living here while having secondary education.
*hurridley (?) squeezes socks to get more tequila* *passes Keef a shot* *lines another up for self* *wonders if impending full moon is making everyone so narky*
I'm not sure this thread was ever going to have constructive comments given the very nature of it, some of us tried to lighten the tone with humour but sadly to no avail.
David Bowie and Tony Visconti Lived in Penge for a while, also has a homebase and a topps tiles Wonder if it has many 'incomers'. We could branch out with the takeover.
ounds a bit like the original Franklins on walworth Rd. Anyone remember that? the old higgledy piggledy antique shop where you'd stumble upon the fab restaurant in the basement. Eating Sunday lunch at the table while people perused the antiques surrounding you. When the antiques shop closed down the restaurant moved and became what is now Franklins on LL.
speaking as an incomer (8 years here) I've been in the EDD once a few years ago - never been back. Have never been into an Iceland I don't think. Cheese block a few times. BMC twice. Seacow maybe three times. Actually you know what - I don't get out much!! why do we assume that the incomers have all the money. I reckon a few old timers have got a bob or two under the mattress.
I dpn't want you to get outta town macro - I wish we could all live side by side in harmony. But there is so much hostility towards us from you originals that we incomers must surely rise up. By the way - are you saying that ED'ers had a closed gene pool from the early 1900's until the 1970's. This may explain some things.
