  1. for threads in the know (I had a rhyme for the other one and you've changed it!)
  2. only time I want a cigarette is when I'm in a drinking establishment.
  3. for she's always on the prowl
  4. not that one!
  5. I don't know how to put a link for a thread in here but if you do a search there is a roving bicycle repair man in the area.
  6. well done TT - I was having trouble with that one.
  7. I did buy a white as well but it's a cheapy one. Sainsbury's own white burgundy Bourgogne 2005 about 4.99 I think. My fave white at the moment (not a huge white drinker) is a Sainsbury's 'Taste the Difference' Muscadet. Slips down a treat.
  8. Ok if you haven't got cats. My little treasures stuck their claws in and poof, no vacuum.
  9. the need for a fag
  10. What about the Effra and the Fleet? They are now underground but originally were above ground. Perhaps the stream that now goes under Marsden Rd was once above ground.
  11. I think you may be confusing irony with sarcasm but I suspect we were actually being flippant. Your neighbour sounds like an idiot.
  12. I didn't get a goodie bag. pee'd off now. For the record - don't like the new fruit & veg layout. It will be a scrum when it's busy.
  13. If someone is sick and desperate enough, they will try anything. No it doesn't 'usually' happen (thank goodness). There was a case reported in the media a few weeks ago of a man trying to snatch a toddler from its pushchair in full view of the mother, in broad daylight. These people are ill and don't think rationally. So just because it doesn't 'usually' happen, doesn't mean it never happens........

  15. I'm assuming the school issued the letter as it was an unusual and random event and wanted the parents to be aware of it. If it happened all the time they wouldn't need to issue letters. As the school felt it was important enough to issue a letter, I felt it was important enough to pass on the information. Is the sceptisism about the event occuring or that I'm making the whole thing up?
  16. I read somewhere on a previous post that that is indeed the case.
  17. and everyone's joining the fray
  18. OK - If anyone is interested in resurrecting this, I've just bought a rioja from Sainsbo's. I've never bought it before. It is called 'Era Costana' Rioja, 2001 and is reduced from 8.99 to 4.99.
  19. that's a good deal.
  20. my mum grows tons of veg in her garden in Scotland - she only plants seeds etc when the moon is waxing.

Q: what do you call a homeless musician? A: single
  23. I pay ?422 pa for joint buildings and contents ?500k & ?60k respectively with Legal & General. I've got a few years ncd but that's a scam anyway probably. 3 bed terraced. (1960's)
  24. but presumably you are buying somewhere else and thus paying stamp duty on that purchase.
  25. Savacentre is Sainsbury's under another guise I believe. Only a few hours to go now until the grand reopening - are they having a special do with free drinks for the first hundred customers etc? Anyone know? If they are I may go tomorrow.
