I'm not trying to quit. I only smoke about 5 cigarettes a week and I thoroughly enjoy them. If others cannot control their unnatural urges and have to smoke nigh on twenty a day, stinking out the pubs and restaurants and killing themselves and everyone they come into contact with, why should I have to suffer, little old me with my neat and tidy fag habit that doesn't harm anyone? My crack habit on the other hand, well that's a different story.

I'm with Orange - have had occasional loss of signal in the Village, elsewhere no problem (except parts of Scotland!).

It's referring to the sourcing of the materials. Personally I think it would be more 'eco-friendly' if they had incorporated solar panels, ground sourced heating, grey water recycling etc etc. Not sure if anything like this has been done.

Ok - I've got my wires crossed (ha ha). We have got low voltage halogen lights (12v rather than 240v) not low energy. They run through a transformer. However I believe that the low voltage ones are more energy efficient. Mr Asset tells me that low energy halogen replacement bulbs are available but as they are not halogen they will not have the same light. Try Screwfix or Homebase.

I think it's a case of massive chip on shoulder. Jenny's original post, which came from nowhere, was fantastically vitriolic - something she apparently doesn't like in her neighbour - and she is making some horrendous sweeping generalisations, but others on this forum do that too. In fact I think Jenny made some pretty hateful comments in her original post, which is what she is accusing others of doing. So my point is, she is an utter hypocrite and obviously really unhappy. Let's leave her alone. Just off to polish my crocs

It's only in recent times (last 100 years) that legislation has come into being in this country, with it probably really kicking in over the last 50. The courts still rely mainly on Common Law and judicial precedent as a means of dispensing justice.
