  1. not if your injuries end up not killing you but rendering you incapacitated and requiring constant care, that causes a strain on resources that otherwise would not be necessary if you'd just put on the belt. slightly skewed argument but you can see what I mean
  2. in their unnecessarily massive status symbol 4x4s yes, when the kids are well above the age that they could walk, cycle or get - god forbid - public transport yes. When they don't think 'ooh, I'll park a street or two away and walk the rest as it is always a nightmare in that street' yes.
  3. Well I live near JAGS and Alleyns and during school term times it is a nightmare to park. I have taken a photo of my street in school holidays and there are 2 or 3 cars, however the rest of the time it is chokka and if I go out and come back at school pick up time the street is a joke. Personally I would welcome a CPZ in order to keep the mum scum out of the street (although it can be quite entertaining watching them trying to negotiate their massive cars up and down the small road). The argument that it would be detrimental to trade on LL is rubbish. Perhaps it would encourage more people to get off their arses and walk to the shops or if that's not possible, to pay the ?1 fee.
  4. the wind affects which direction they come in I think

  13. PGC - it is dependent / dependant where there is a choice, I assumed it was the same for independent. Must not blurt next time.
  14. actually both spellings of independent/independant appear in the dictionary but I agree the latter looks wrong. No TV in my room as you can see!
  15. sunset is just before 5pm at the moment. park prob closes around 4.30 - 5.00pm
  16. I just booked an apartment near Wall St. through holiday-rentals.co.uk for July. It's costing $1000 for a week which at current rates is about ?500. As there are four of us it's a bargain I think. There were quite a few on their website, lots of 'studio' apartments which for a couple is ideal.
  17. dunno about that frangla, have seen Kenzo, Paul Smith and Agnes B shirts in the Mind shop recently.

  24. I was under the impression that rules were being relaxed regarding prostition currently. I read that the law was to be changed to allow women to work in a house together i.e. a brothel, rather than alone as is all that is currently allowed under the law. Prostitution is not illegal. Soliciting and streetwalking is. Good luck on the program tonight, I'll try and stay up to watch it.
  25. the forum was rocked
