  1. Serendipity strikes as Gary Neville announces retirement. How weird.
  2. My point is potentally there are more one club players around now than in the last few decades. Surprising innit.
  3. Ok then start naming one club players of the past thirty years or so. I'll start. (no current ones as they haven't finished yet) Steve Bull Tony Adams Matt Le Tissier Trevor Brooking
  4. you're right it's not a lot, its just more than I thought. Actually thinking about one club players, is it any worse now than in the last thirty years or so, i'm not sure it is.
  5. There are a lot of one club players still around though, Man Utd have 3, Liverpool have 2 even Chelsea have one.
  6. I like My beans two ways, either on sourdough toast topped with a couple of poached eggs and Worcester sauce, or cold from the tin. Never, ever, ever on a fry up, that's just horrific.
  7. @ Atticus I have no problem with that idea but I fear the stadium is being aimed at commercial use when no Football/ Athletics take place i.e Music etc a la Wembley. Personally I'd prefer Orient/ West Ham and athletics
  8. It's all about self interest to all parties though. I have mixed views about leaving Upton Park but recognise that the club can't grow situated where it is. Match days are chaos, one local tube and miles of traffic congestion, I'm sure it puts people off going, along with the prices of course. (?65 for a ticket to see Liverpool, top price but still.) At least West Ham are doffing their cap to the legacy but still stand to benefit from the tailor made transport network, oh and Westfield for when the footy's shite. Tottenhams bid is pure self interest as well, with no real link to the legacy. They want a ready made transport link, something that their existing new stadium plans don't have and proximity to Canary Wharf and the City for lucrative corporate sponsorship. I have a horrible feeling that the city might swing it Tottenham's way.
  9. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/olympic_games/london_2012/9371221.stm That seems a better option for a club of Orients size. And those cheap tickets are to be sold through local schools. I think that seems entirely reasonable as football increasingly vanishes off the radar of all but the wealthiest people.
  10. Death on a mountain was on bbc4 last night. Should be repeated soon I would have thought.
  11. No spin on Murdoch's news is there. Oh wait...
  12. James Nesbitt uesd to live on Stradella road, but he recently moved to I think New zealand (my friend was a neighbour) Obviously didn't get on then.
  13. Like this http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/A28678404
  14. Judging by the "Aspirational Supermarket" thread (*gag*) I reckon this could go to 20 pages.
  15. I'll take that and raise you The Tourmalet I honestly wanted to have a little cry.
  16. Nah felt tip, try Toys Hill, makes your eyes bleed.
  17. I'm hoping for a rousing chorus of "you don't know what you're doing" aimed at the directors this weekend. I also think no-one would blame Avram Grant for just walking out leaving them looking really stupid. I've always said that I'm not sure if Grant was the right man for the job but I'm firmly on his side now. In other news I heard on the radio Darren Bent and ?24 million in the same sentence, obviously I was hallucinating.
  18. It was a horrific programme to watch. However the true horror was diluted by having to watch the narcissistic, egomaniac Gordon Ramsay with his pitch perfect whine. Any sympathy I had was negated by my wanting to punch his craggy little lights out. Maybe he could do a show on Foie Gras production, oh wait a minute.........
  19. Nail on head moment Sean.
  20. I dunno, if you look at were Villa finished last year (6th) and bar Arsenal spent less than the other 4 in the top 6, then they finished where they should of. Look at where Villa are now. See? No nor do I. Anyway the situation at West Ham is a disgrace, the last thing we needed were a trio of publicity hungry pillocks lording it over Upton Park. Anyone notice David Sullivan's outfit? It says a lot about the man. I also can't believe I found myself agreeing with Alan Green the other day when he said, "exactly why does Karen Brady need a newspaper column, is it so she can undermine the manager inside AND outside the club" I'm beginning to wish for relegation, if only to put those three in their place.
  21. Wot Ruffers said. Apart from the City fan bit, that would be silly.
  22. Grant out, Martin 'O Neill in. Brilliantly handled by Brady, Gold and Sullivan...not.
  23. I think we saw what the effect a passionate manager can have on a side last night, look at Birmingham, transformed.
  24. I would rather West Ham were relegated than see a bloke like Allardyce in charge and I don't think I'm alone. However, I'm not sure that Grant is the right man for the job either, yet again we concede from a corner, how many times do you have to take a leak before you work out you need to lift the lid on the bog? We're not progressing, we have injuries, sure but there seems to be no cohesion or plan, or more importantly, passion. I do feel for Grant however, he's been walking a very long plank and someone within the club is enjoying watching him suffer, that is not the way at Upton Park. Arsenal Saturday, Gawd help us.
  25. Good article on Kenny here http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/news-and-comment/james-lawton-dalglishs-link-with-the-spirit-of-shankly-offers-starting-point-for-liverpool-revival-2181149.html
