  1. T-I-S, I appreciate all you say about Philip Green, you're right he is a wealth creator for the government and for his employees. As a wealth creator he is already privy to tax breaks that you or I (I'm presuming) can only wish for and has then taken advantage, legally, of one major other loop hole in which he evades all tax whatsoever. No wrongdoing there. However he is a Government advisor on how to stop monies leaking out of the public purse and when that man has personally sidestepped around ?200million tax in one hit that smells of rank hypocrisy. That I think is why he is a target of protests. Legally nothing is wrong with how he conducts his affairs, morally however I disagree. P.S I'm confused over the Bill Gates thing, as his foundation has so-far donated $28 Billion to charitable works.
  2. Dart Vader, in ED! who'd a thunk it.
  3. I'm utterly speechless. Utterly, utterly speechless.

  5. He espouses the Irish economy He is more or less Irish. Make of that what you will. I doubt the Irish are too pleased. He is a monumental prick, FACT. edited to say i don't like him
  6. I have been at home today with the radio on. I think I'd rather have Tinnitus.
  7. I was mildly amused after hearing of Cameron condemning the rioting and destruction of public property. Bit like the Bullingdon club really.
  8. I'm sorry to ask this but is the "flower" of scotland a Pansy, by any chance?
  9. Though I doubt victims of waterboarding get more than 2 toppings.
  10. If it's an allround expression that ecapsulates any manner of sensory assaults, then it's at The Actress on a Saturday afternoom. Sport + Music+ screaming babies+ buggy overload= torture. Excellent Pizza though.
  11. If I may, I'll be there around 7ish, sheepish, and will leave before I start ranting, raving and being an allround arse. I look like Fabio Capello, so being an arse is par for the course.
  12. Brendan I absolutely agree, ideologically. Sadly someone has to pay, cash has to be moved from one huge pot to the next and I fear the pot that is at threat most is the pension pot. So let the minority pay to let the majority have some decency in their dotage. Of course there is a way around this. Tax. Pay more.
  13. Radio 4 for this http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00svnmg Alan Bennett at 27.20 ish Radio 5 Saturday morning through till 6, to avoid white van man Radio 6 for the music Radio 1, Heart, smack it up, wickid, yowzah, whatever, when the kids are here.

  15. I was near Trafalgar Sq. today and it was incredible, traffic was stopped, people stopped, . Then I read this and wiped a tear. It's worth a read. For the world's events have rumbled on since those gagged days, Like traffic checked while at the crossing of city-ways: And the haunted gap in your mind has filled with thoughts that flow Like clouds in the lit heaven of life; and you're a man reprieved to go, Taking your peaceful share of Time, with joy to spare. But the past is just the same--and War's a bloody game... Have you forgotten yet?... Look down, and swear by the slain of the War that you'll never forget. Do you remember the dark months you held the sector at Mametz-- The nights you watched and wired and dug and piled sandbags on parapets? Do you remember the rats; and the stench Of corpses rotting in front of the front-line trench-- And dawn coming, dirty-white, and chill with a hopeless rain? Do you ever stop and ask, 'Is it all going to happen again?' Do you remember that hour of din before the attack-- And the anger, the blind compassion that seized and shook you then As you peered at the doomed and haggard faces of your men? Do you remember the stretcher-cases lurching back With dying eyes and lolling heads--those ashen-grey Masks of the lads who once were keen and kind and gay? Have you forgotten yet?... Look up, and swear by the green of the spring that you'll never forget. edited for a teenage use of Incredible, like so totally..
  16. Dear Red Devil, I'm sorry, I baited you after seeing the mighty Hammers give away yet another lead. I apologise I was being glib and your response was bang on. I do like BR though, his protestations on not wasting "big money" on Rooney were effing hilarious. Santa Cruz Robinho Adebayour Milner Barry Kolo Toure Lescott Cheap at half the price. Actually that's not really true..........
  17. Shows you up for looking at everything through your totally biased right wing Labour spectacles. Anybody? Anybody?
  18. Soooooo if there was an election in, say the next six months. How could you vote Lib Dem? As far as I can see they have not upheld anything within their manifesto bar electoral reform, a bone the Conservatives have thrown them in order to get their way on more fundamental policies. A bone that's so empty of fat given the LD holding within the commons. To me they are doing nothing but giving a cloak of legitimicy to a minority government, whilst destroying themselves through hypocrisy. Nick Clegg's latest admission that he didn't think about the university fees pledge is frankly ludicrous. I think its in the LD's interest to have an election, see the Tories walk it and get themselves out of a hugely damaging and abusive relationship, It won't happen though and I think we'll see the liberal party metamorphosise yet again. Interesting times.

  20. Better to have a coalition than a pure tory govt, surely? Do you see a difference?
  21. Sean, they have reneged on 3 HUGE principles(cornerstones) of their election manifesto, and you don't understand the kicking? Coalition aside there has to be some dogma, surely. I mean what did the punters vote for. I only posted this thread after watching a visibly bemused Huhne and Cable in China. Human rights was pretty high on the agenda as well. Clegg has duped the party and the electorate, I'll say it again, The ELECTORATE. A Chancer that has put himself above principle and his party. Discuss
  22. Then why bother posting on this forum...it's nothing but cheap point scoring, something you've always done on here... Oh dear, pressure. RD you can't always have it your own way. BR has always been myopic, so have you.
  23. With their popularity dropping, U-turns on three pre-election pledges (VAT, University Fees and Trident), is this the end for the Lib Dems? Discuss.
  24. Of course the real genius in all this is Boxhead Cowell, Car crash TV plus blanket tabloid coverage plus premium rate telephone lines = one very rich man. I'm impressed.
  25. ]When I'm in the mood I sometimes quite enjoy his record. (You only really need one) And Stevie Wonder wants it back.
