  1. Young man just called to ask for sponsorship for a 10 mile walk for Great Ormond Street Hospital. My gut feeling was it's a scam and have just spoken with GOSH who say they have no planned walks at this time. He was 18/19, 5ft 7, white with Irish accent and he said his name was xxxx Lawlor. Can't remember the first name he gave. He had a GOSH form. Near DKH School.

  7. Ca anyone tell me what route the bus is now taking? Thank you.
  8. In the mid 90's students/young people were used to deposit cheques into their student/young persons bank account. Cheques would usually be drawn on a closed account, lost/stolen book. A couple of days later, as in the day funds would be considered cleared, they would return to cash the vast majority of cheque amount, keeping a tiny proportion for themselves, in other words their cut. Initially the police were called but after several attempts by different kids, I realised it was more effective to get their parents involved. But they were old enough to get a criminal record which would have affected their credit rating and any future loan/mortgage applications. Most of these kids had no idea they were committing fraud.
  9. I returned my steam mop and bought a Vax steam mop...earlier today my son asked if I was ever going to use it...I think Tiddles has a point!

  16. I hope this woman is able to explain the difference between want and need to her children.
  17. Daily Mail is vile and most people agree with this BUT when people want their issue/need/want voiced, it's the paper they turn to. And yes I'm thinking local SAHM, former barrister! WHY?!?
  18. Yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
  19. Just to let you know that both our Mac and Mac book had hard drive failures within two years, fortunately we purchased from John Lewis and they came with a 2 year guarantee unlike the 1 year offered at Apple. Because of this I would recommend AppleCare and I don't normally go for extended warranties. And let's not talk about the problems I've had with my Mac Air, the hard drive is the only part that hasn't been replaced! But Apple have replaced all without charge.
  20. Can you advise? Is it a good service? Worth leaving Orange? Is there a catch?
