I saw him earlier this evening and showed him your post, he was chuffed and his colleague promised to tell their Sergeant.

Another judgment on Charter's Admissions Policy
FatherJack replied to fairadmissions's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Southwark News features a piece on the safe routes map. The Head at Charter, Dave Sheppard, says "the school has been in touch with the agency who do the mapping and it will be in time for this year's admissions round. We will have it published within the month". -

Anyone out there forced to homeschool?
FatherJack replied to rosendalerobin's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Yes, but we are at secondary level. I'm just researching what's out there now. So if anyone has any tips, advice suggestions please post on here. Are you after advice? Our situation is similar but we are at opposite ends of the system...arrghhhhhh -
flying with Easy Jet - to speedy board or not?
FatherJack replied to jennyh's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Having recently travelled with EasyJet (last month) they call Speedy Boarding then Senior Citizens and Families with children under 5. Our outbound flight was fairly civilised and people made a path to allow us through BUT the return flight was not without comment..."So this lot have pushed in". Let's just say I left her red faced and embarrassed especially as she had barged her way to the front! Agree with Belle EasyJet better/nicer than RyanAir. Good Luck! -
Help! No school places for children yr 1, yr 4
FatherJack replied to rosendalerobin's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I'm not sure that Southwark would know if there are places in years 1 and 4. Can't speak for Lambeth. LA's deal with admissions at point of entry reception and year 7... I would contact schools not LA's. -
Be aware and warn your kids not to text or respond to shortcode texts. They may look like 83500, 60700 and are 5 digits in length and start with 8 or 6...they may have other starting numbers. Often pop up competitions will appear online "win an iPad/iPhone" (I'm told Apple products are the carrot! then you register to take part in the quiz providing your mobile number. By signing up you may be signing away ?5 per text received or worse a long term subscription unless you text STOP to a different shortcode text number, which you are also charged for. This is not a new scam, but with paperless billing on contract phones it can take a month to notice. Obviously with a PAYG, it will just eliminate the credit. Some of these text scam companies are under investigation by phonepayplus.org.uk and can help obtain refunds but many will insist that you must be 18 to register and their websites quote this. A possible preventative measure is to request that your mobile phone provider bar over 18 content/access to your child's phone.

KidKruger...the only way is to get another user to order tickets for the same event and of course there is no guarantee at this stage that you will both be successful nor will you sit together. We wanted 7 tickets and were fortunate enough to get them in the final priority ballot...you know the one for those that didn't get any in rounds 1, 2 and goodness knows how many others! We could only purchase 4 initially until they went on general sale, we then bought an additional 3 for the same event and we are sitting together, but don't ask me how that happened! In short the website is shite.

If it were an Olympic Sport we would hold the Gold medal and Olympic Record which would be safe for as long as we live here! Once upon a time our home was a squat and it seems that we have returned to squat conditions, although we're not burning pallats on the living room floor...yet!

It may be possible to go and examine package without taking receipt of it. I done this with a delivery that did not have enough postage, when I saw what it was and who it was from I declined to take it, and asked to return it to sender.

If I were new to this forum I may have fallen for the recommendation made by the fake poster. If someone starts a thread about a specific group or service provided by someone, centres/people/organisations of a similar ilk should not jump on it UNLESS it's a thread requesting info about such a service. This thread is about McAlpine Dance School, and just so I remain on topic...I will consider McAlpine for my daughter when she is old enough way before a centre who creates fake accounts posing as BusyMums recommending their services...poor show!!

Jumped in on another thread also http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?25,835003,862750#msg-862750 Moi cynical ??? Tee hee!

Crikey did my mention of the previous unsavoury thread hit a raw "legal" nerve re SLDS.....it's gone and I didn't remove it...........curiouser and curiouser!
