Breast Milk STINKS...............apparently
FatherJack replied to FatherJack's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Ryedalema......The "breast-feeding incident" was already over by the time I had entered the shop and I was unaware of any smell, but I will say this my nose has been subjected to more than a decade on/off of breast-feeding directly/indirectly and I have yet to detect a smell. I have suggested signage to their head office, if they really find it that offensive/inappropriate. Edited as original post quoted Bristol Bus Breastfeeding Incident............. -
Now that I have your attention please take the time to read this........ Earlier today I was in the MIND Charity shop looking at the children's books. Close by was a woman with two young children aged about one and two. When suddenly a member of staff came over and sprayed air freshener around us and over our heads. The children started coughing and I said it was probably because of the spray. The mother said to me the smell is quite strong isn't it? At this point the sprayer said "SO DOES YOUR MILK" and repeated it when the mother said I beg your pardon........ It was obvious something had happened before the spraying, I thought perhaps one of the kids had dropped a bottle of milk, but no. The store manager (the sprayer) was referring to the mother, breast feeding her younger child in the changing room!!!!!!! Their conversation went as follows....... Mother "I was in the changing room with the curtain closed" Store Manager "NO you weren't it was half open, how did I know what you were doing??" Mother "Perhaps you peeked through. Give me your name as I would like to complain" Store Manager "My area manager is out the back now....I'll go and get him" At this point I gave the mother my phone number and told her that I too would complain to the MIND head office, but I had to leave. When I got home I called the head office and explained what I had seen/heard and Frank asked me and I quote......... "Do you think the lady should have been breast-feeding in the changing room?" I kept reasonably calm and said the shop didn"t appear busy, there wasn't a queue for the changing room and it probably meant that by feeding her baby in the changing room meant she could continue to shop and spend money. Frank, then went on to compare MIND Grove Vale with Marks and Spencer and did I think M&S would mind their changing rooms used as a breast-feeding facility. I told him that was an inappropriate comparison, because at this point I felt I was speaking to someone who might spray an aerosol at any moment. To the Mother you were very composed and handled the situation well but imagine if you were a new mum.......?? Rest assured I will write to the head office as his behaviour was rude and intimidating and he should NOT be dealing with member of the public. I for one WILL NEVER re-visit this shop, and yes I walked up Grove Vale effin and jeffin !!!!! Edited several times... obviously too angry at time of original post to punctuate, spell correctly etc etc too tired to double check now...

Ahhhhhhh SELDOC where to begin...... 1) Outside SELDOC with a four year old who had a head injury, we were turned away because I hadn't phoned prior to visiting. Apparently they have a procedure that MUST be followed. 2) A friend's teenage daughter was staying with us and was having what turned out to be a panic attack (I had never seen one before) but given that she has asthma I called SELDOC. The phone operator was more interested in where her mother was. I told them she was in hospital with her younger daughter. What's wrong with her daughter? At this point I said are you going to send someone or not. I should explain that this was about 3am and I was home alone with my children and friend's daughter. She said they would send someone, we waited several hours and when I called back they told me that I had said that I would visit them. I should have put a complaint in writing in both cases but didn't. I don't use SELDOC anymore. Fuschia......I wish your little one a speedy recovery ! Best wishes

Arrrghh my washing machine has died....sob....
FatherJack replied to The Nappy Lady's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Agree with all previous Miele posts, our machine is eleven years old (purchased after birth of first baby) and is currently catering for a family of seven. The rubber rim is the only replacement part it has required because I shoved too large a load into it. Eleven years ago it was our most expensive purchase after our home and our car. At the time family and friends ridiculed us, they don't anymore. However I DREAD to think what it would cost to purchase one now............. -

FatherJack replied to Goodliz's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Belgo's Covent Garden, kids eat free (1 kid per adult, was once 2 kids per adult!) Kids menu sausage, cod goujons, chicken with a choice of mash or fries followed by an ice cream. Drinks not included. Friendly staff with Stokke high chairs for little ones. You can check out their menu on their website. -

Dear Deirdre - think my friend's trying to rip me off
FatherJack replied to RosieH's topic in The Lounge
Wasn't there another thread asking whose face you'd like to slap?? I don't know Rosie or her so called friend but surely she is worthy of a slap, this is shocking behaviour and the friend is taking the piss. Rosie ask yourself is the friendship worth it? Surely not.......oooo I could go on but to what end ! -
Edited in disbelief............

I's all a bit Big Brother to me......don't they keep the irritating little ***** in the house to boost ratings?? Haven't watched BB for years though, but that was my theory way back when and now I find history doth repeat itself on another show!! Daizie.....Robbie was DEF on summat, had I been Dermot I would have been unable to look him in those BIG BAD SCARY EYES. I felt certain this would have been a pre-recorded show, can you imagine Simon Cowell faffing about on a Saturday night and then returning on a Sunday night for the results, but Louis wasn't there......hold on it could still have been filmed last night couldn't it..........???
-
Oooeeeerrrrrr LadyGooner.......and to think I was slagging off Ms Minogue for her comments last night !!!
-
Simon reckons Louis chose the twins because they're irish......possibly but I think Louis has another agenda that has absolutely nothing to do with talent or lack of in this case!!
-
Enjoy enjoy enjoy........rehab anyone???
-
As soon as Simon get's the deciding vote on Louis' Boys........ he'll have two one way tickets back to Ireland.....Ryan Air of course! BRING IT ON.......I'm hooked
-
Anyway shocked and stunned they're through, I knew this last week.......feck feck feck Louis' boys.......I've made my decision........ I'd slap both
