  1. Rockets this isn't an LTN thread.
  2. Just as trees improve the feel of Lordship Lane, so would fewer parked cars and wider pavements.
  3. The trees should be on build outs in the road wherever possible, not reducing space on the already narrow pavements.
  4. Report it via Fix My Street
  5. Spoken like someone who has never sat at the front of a bus Spartacus. If you had you’d see they are persistently stuck behind parked cars, waiting for a space to move across to the other side of the road to get around them. Or stuck in traffic unable to use the bus lane due to parked cars. Completely agree with @Earl Aelfheah. It’s appalling that buses can’t use the Lordship Lane bus lane because parked cars are allowed for the majority of the day.
  6. The Dulwich Estate’s notice in the window states the lease has been forfeited “as a result of illegal assignment / subletting.”
  7. Recommended watching for everyone concerned by road danger.
  8. Off topic, this thread is to complain about cyclists on the pavements is it not? 🙄
  9. Awful collision with a driver hitting a woman on a Lordship Lane zebra crossing, fractured leg and in need of a brain scan.
  10. Perhaps the criminals were inspired by the Conservative party after their Mayoral candidate, Susan Hall, sent out thousands of fake driving licenses penalty notices, designed to mislead them into handing over personal data to the party. https://bylinetimes.com/2024/07/12/conservative-party-ico-susan-hall-sadiq-khan-leaflets-data-harvesting/?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1721034897
  11. And someone (aka a driver) was responsible for the vehicle
  12. The anti-cycling rhetoric on here ignores the most serious road danger in the area.
  13. There’s a bit on East Dulwich Grove, close to the junction with Townley Road. Should be a lot more though, worth emailing local councillors to suggest.
  14. I wouldn’t believe anything this group says. The London Fire Brigade confirmed to Southwark News in April that they’d been consulted with. https://southwarknews.co.uk/area/dulwich/dulwich-village-ltn-row-erupts-as-emergency-vehicle-access-restricted/ Similarly regarding the police, sending an FOI request to a specific branch of the Met police who reply saying they’ve not been consulted isn’t the same as ‘the Met weren’t consulted’. Also, what evidence do they have to back up their claim that the council ‘pressured’ the ambulance service into accepting a bollard? The statement in Southwark News says the ambulance service recognised the need to balance their concerns with the protection of other vulnerable road users. It seems that One Dulwich are getting increasingly desperate with their conspiracy theories. If only their time and energies were channeled into something positive for the community.
  15. There is some info on free bike maintenance courses funded by Southwark as part of Streets for People here https://www.southwark.gov.uk/transport-and-roads/sustainable-travel/cycling/working-together#:~:text=Through Streets for People Community,to plan a cycle journey.
  16. Chris Boardman speaking about road danger is worth a watch.
  17. Calton was particularly hideous. An ambulance wouldn’t have got anywhere fast.
  18. Funny how some people don’t remember how awful it used to be
  19. Agree Earl. Anyone who remembers how bad the congestion on Calton Ave and Court Lane used to be knows that this isn’t a route that emergency services would have been able to get anywhere quickly.
  20. Richard Aldwinkle is always referred to as their spokesperson in press pieces. These are some of his distasteful tweets.
  21. It’s been said before, but worth reminding everyone that a consultation is not a referendum. Cllr McAsh was clear to state that resident feedback would be one element considered when decision making - “Resident feedback is one part of it but then looking at all the evidence that we’re gathering as well. That is all important.”
  22. They sound deranged and, in the interests of accuracy (something One Dulwich care little for) the Streatham LTN hasn’t been ‘scrapped’ or removed, it is suspended.
