Are these cuts not being made in administrative staff which outnumber the uniformed branch about three to one.. Not seen any proposals for front line cuts in detail.

Do soldiers have a 'right to life'

I recall the preamble to the Infantry Officers Training Manual from Field Marshall Lord Slim.. "You will first put the honour and interests of your country and your Regiment. Next you will put the safety, wellbeing and comfort of your men. And last..last all the time..you will put your own interests, your own safety and your own comfort" Sadly the MOD fails in many respects to echo these principles, whilst they are the base line for junior officers and company commanders....those remote from the action and with more than a view from the foxhole might have different perspectives. There is a deeper philosphical discussion to be had here on all killing in war. -
Congratulations to the happy couple. It is good news all round.

We tend to disagree about most things so it will spur an interesting debate over a good wine.

Laser vision correction with a strong prescription - anyone done it?
Santerme replied to Sanne Panne's topic in The Lounge
I was -6 in both eyes and had full wave front treatment. 20/20 vision. Went with Optimax....cut a deal, don't take the full price. I got it down to ?2200 from the ?4000 initially quoted and had 0% so used their money as well. -

I would have been about nine or ten, if it were '68/69, and often went with my Grandfather to the area around the Tower, it strikes a vague cord with me now you mention it.

Thank goodness, perhaps the Court can come here for the analysis of norms of youth behaviour prior to any sentencing.
