Great places in NC, I agree We have offices in Charlotte so get to travel there couple of times a year Off to Spain in March and probably get down to New Orleans this year Do a few short trips to France, Germany and most likely Switzerland too We are more about holidays than work now thank goodness

In fact the pre 1969 rank and file were constantly expressing doubt about the effectiveness of the hunger strikes for such narrow objectives.
  3. Big boys rules if you play big boys games I fear I was under no illusion on my three tours who wanted to kill me
  4. Shortsighted and I wore bifocals (could not get on with varifocal) I opted to have both eyes at 20:20, rather than going for one eye weaker than the other (which can eliminate reading glasses). I had their full wave front treatment, which has substantially improved my night driving vision also. All in all very happy. I would say that my business partner had to go for a second treatment as his initial results in one eye were not as good as expected, but it was all done FOC by Optimax. I was able to drive within a couple of days and had totally clear vision within two weeks....(the eye has to absorb a large amount of water after the procedure)
  5. Had it done last year Results were and are excellent Went for Optimax in the end as got their initial quoted price down by half and 0 per cent finance over 24 months After care was very good indeed and had six check ups after surgery and was discharged fully after last one couple of months ago

  7. Let's wait and see.......... I suspect we will see some sleight of hand, but if not the Powers of Criminal Courts (Sentencing) Act 2000 comes into play and that states: "Where a person convicted of murder or any other offence the sentence for which is fixed by law as life imprisonment appears to the court to have been aged under 18 at the time the offence was committed, the court shall (notwithstanding anything in this or any other Act) sentence him to be detained during Her Majesty?s pleasure." That can be as long as the powers that be want it to be......
  8. This was a new trial, not a retrial....why would they not be sentenced as adults? I fully expect them to receive the mandatory life sentence, it is up to the judge to determine the minimum tariff. I doubt they will be treated leniently on parole attempts either.

I slept very well, knowing I had some of the best motivated, most highly trained young men and women in the world around me. As for questioning orders, it happens all the time, especially in the fluid situations when you find yourself in combat. I can recall literally dozens of times I asked for clarification on orders given to me and deciding how the situation on the ground dictated I interpret them to best effect, it's what I got paid for. The care and safety of those under our command is the paramount concern of any officer in the armed forces and it is a duty not taken lightly in any respect whatsoever. Hope you have a great Christmas!
  12. ?When your work speaks for itself, don't interrupt.? Henry Kaiser. I am guessing the damage is already done, fair play if you have paid for crapola.
  13. Having lost friends and comrades over 23 years of service, I wear my poppy as a mark of respect... I also wear it as a message to younger generations that the freedoms we take so easily for granted carry a price. A price paid by strangers for strangers, who gave there all so we could make choices in life.....good or bad. It is also a recognition to the many heroic men and women whose actions went unsung. To those who have served it is that complicated and that simple. I could not care less if this child decides to make a stand against his school's rules.... The fact he can is based on the actions of others lost in the mists of time. They deserve a moments thought and respect because they were mostly very ordinary people in real life thrust into extraordinary circumstances not of their own making.

It has moved passed boredom and spiraled into ennui. Your right, but it is pointless now. In my humble opinion.
