  1. You only reep what you sow. When they coming a bleating, it will be nice to remind them of the 58% who retained the current councillors.
  2. Another weekend is just around the corner so what better way to get ready than two more "Going home for the weekend" tracks. Snap, "I've got the power" Tashan, "Read my mind"
  3. yeah, but we all know that the Conservative's are going to take a kicking at the local elections because of what the Govt has been doing/behaving like at national level. But still should not forget that Labour may also take a bit of a rollicking because of the Durham Beergate saga. Nothing is sure till the votes are counted, scrutinised and finalised. Then we'll see how the local population have voted and if the Conservatives took a kicking or if voters have become disenchanted wit the way the councillors have dismissed the majority's wishes of acting on their behalf. Give it about another 7 hours and you may have some results to shout about and discuss.
  4. Exactly, this election is about the election of Councillors to serve the needs of the local community. If they have not done as you wanted, now is the opportunity to dispense with their services and replace with a new incumbent who will hopefully deliver what they have said they will do in their Councillor bumph. It is also the opportunity to make the council less of a one party state and allow the democratic process to happen with those with the majority being fairly scrutinised on the actions and decisions they have taken on behalf of the community and what should be in the best interests of that community, be it left , right, blue, green, red, yellow or other colour.

  6. This topic, LTN's in Dulwich was all across BBC London news yesterday
  7. Otherwise known as "the time for the people to speak with the ballot box". Councillors, the party's over, your time is up, come in boat no.2
  8. A Bank Holiday Bonus Track; Marvin Gaye, "When Did You Stop Loving Me, When Did I Stop Loving You (Instrumental)". Probably the best track on the entire album IMO.
  9. From Tfl site "FOREST HILL ROAD,SE22: From 15:00 Thursday 28 April until 17:00 Friday 06 May, route 63 is curtailed; starting and terminating at Peckham Rye (Nigel Road) due to emergency Thames Water works. No service between Peckham Rye / East Dulwich Road (stops WN and WK) and the end of the route at Therapia Road (stops J and H). FOREST HILL ROAD,SE22: From 15:00 Thursday 28 April until 17:00 Friday 06 May, Routes 363 and N63 are on diversion due to emergency Thames Water works. Buses are diverted via Barry Road and Lordship Lane, missing stops from Friern Road (WP) to Underhill Road (MC) southbound and from Underhill Road / Melford Road (MB) to Friern Road (WB) northbound. SYDENHAM HILL; From 08:00 Tuesday 19 May to 17:00 Saturday 21 May, routes 363 and N63 towards Peckham are on diversion from Crystal Palace Parade/College Road to Sydenham Hill/Droitwich Close due to water works. Buses will miss the stops Westwood Hill, Dome Hill Park and Wells Park Road."
  10. Was told by a lawnsmen on Friday that grass is second seeding itself already, apparently it is early in the season for this to be happening.
  11. With another Bank Holiday just around the corner, what better way to begin then with two outstandingly great "Going home for the weekend" tracks from the O'Jays, beginning with "I love music" Swiftly followed on by "My favourite person",
  12. Take a look at the film Good Will Hunting, "you can do anything you want, you are bound by nothing". Not a truer word spoken. A person's background should be NO barrier or obstacle to them trying or doing anything they want, we are born free and freedom is one the most important things in life we have. It doesn't matter who you are or what your background is, you are a free person and no one should deter you from what you want to do or achieve.
  13. Traffic or rather the roadworks in various locations are causing traffic gridlock. i) Brenchley Gardens, pavement widening works ongoing between Forest Hill Road and Kelvington Road ii) Further major roadworks at the junction of East Dulwich Road and Peckham Rye (The Kings Arms Junction in all four directions temp traffic lights), casing huge delays and creating traffic tailbacks. iii) Rye Lane, as stated above by the station, more temporary traffic lights and more queuing traffic iv) "Forest Hill Road, SE22, Routes 63, 363, N63: Road is closed due to a burst water main. Buses are on diversion. 63 will not serve stops between Peckham Rye / East Dulwich Road and Therapia Road. 363 and N63 will not serve stops between Friern Road and Underhill Road." Effectively no bus service from the bottom of Barry Road to Woodvale till the Barracks Lordship Lane, then onto Crystal Palace. It's NOW beyond a joke. How many times do Thames Water need to do a repair to a water main, if memory serves me right, did they just recently replace the water main on Forest Hill Road, can't they do ANYTHING which lasts????? v) Peckham Hill Street, looked like further works are about to begin No notification on bus stops that the P13 is on diversion, waited 20 mins by side of Primark, then had to detour up to the top of Barry Road and back down Lordship Lane, it's chaos out there. Being cynical for a moment, it was the end of the financial year so the Council are spending (wasting money on a number of daft schemes i.e. Benchley Garden road narrowing scheme, absolute and total madness. This morning traffic was queuing back down Brenchley Gardens into Forest Hill Road BOTH ways. WHAT ARE THE COUNCILLORS DOING ABOUT ANY OF THIS??????????????????????????
  14. So sad to have read this tweet from the dead man's niece and what the family encountered, wholly wrong and immoral on all counts. Everyone has the right to a funeral and send off irrespective of background or any other category people wish to use.
  15. Whoeveritis Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Trying to liaise with this surgery is something > else. Agreed The atmosphere is awful and the > receptionists are rude , irritable and dismissive. Agreed Receptionists are the first encounter patients have with this practice, "the shop window" that sets the tone for what happens next. Clearly they still fail to appreciate that we are patients who are not well and need assistance and not customers. > Their econsult is also down again. Anyone have any > advice ? How they main being graded as Good by Care Quality Commission is nothing less than laughable. They appear to do everything they can to NOT engage and help their patients. It is actually sad that reception continues to be an ongoing issue and has been for as long as I can remember. Why they cannot rectify this issue is unbelievable? The online reviews for this Practice are depressing to read, maybe they are happy to be so poor.
