It's a banking space, not fussed if it's inviting or not, it's local and convenient, good enough for me. It has nothing to do with LB Southwark The bank and immediate surrounding area is better than other parts of Rye Lane I added the thread to the main section to give it a wider audience, what's the harm with that? Agreed, one more way to make the life of customers even more difficult and time consuming. Doesn't that just leave Barclay's and TSB as the only traditional bank's in Rye Lane. My understanding is that once the works at Peckham Rye Station are complete, the TSB branch will re-locate to else where on Rye Lane, but I don't know where.

The going home for the weekend song thread...come on you groovey foookers
jazzer replied to ????'s topic in The Lounge
Another weekend is just around the corner, so it's time for some "going home for the weekend" tunes. From all the way back to 1983, The Funkmasters, "Its Over" And then even further back to 1979, this time it's a Roy Ayres tune, "Don't stop the feeling" -
A guess is that a fault is developing at a local sub station which maybe creating this flickering

Switching Energy suppliers - any recommendations?
jazzer replied to Studio-S.E.2.2.'s topic in The Lounge
Angelina Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > if you can find an energy supplier without > standing charges you might do well. > depends on the usage rates as well.. Oh, well, if you know a energy who doesn't charge a daily standing charge, do tell. ACtually it is a requirement of Ofgem for energy suppliers TO charge a daily standing charge, so unfortunately no getting away from it. -

Honestly in the current market, I wouldn't recommend changing suppliers, if you do you're likely to get a worse deal then you currently are on. Lots of tariffs offered towards the end of last year/early this year have already been closed to new customers, because of the continued increase in wholesale prices. I'm with London Power, from April 2nd the estimated cost for my domestic gas and electricity will rise by ?700. And at the time the variable tariff I switched to still offered good prices for per KWh, as my fixed tariff deal came to an end in January. The real sucker in all of this is that energy providers have sky rocketed the cost of the standing daily charge, so much so it is more than the cost of per KWh in some cases, although these are pretty much fixed costs for the energy suppliers. If energy suppliers wanted to help customers they would curb the standing charge increases which they have forced on customers. By all means take a look at what's on offer, but I doubt you'll find a better deal for comparable usage. -
When TW say "the shut-off valve is broken" just shows how poorly the system is maintained.

Got to say the sound from the last LG flat screen LCD TV I purchased from Richer Sounds, the sound had improved tremendously from the previous LG I had bought about 8 years earlier, and no need for a sound bar.

Have used Richer Sounds a couple of times and both experiences were good at there Croydon and Bromley stores. TV's are fairly straightforward to set up. Have been happy with LG, reliable, work well and easy to use.

Looking for a mobile phone "Whizz" Are you a whizz with mobile phones, can you fix them. I have an LG handset which has reverted to "service disabled" mode meaning it cannot connect to a network. Have you fixed phones previously with this problem. I've looked online and although they are suggestions, they do not seem to provide the necessary fix. So, if you can fix this, can you PM me, or if you know someone who HAS fixed this problem, can you pm me their details. Please only respond if you can do this or know someone who can. Thanks in advance J.

Did you get your council tax bill for 2022 - 2023 today?
jazzer replied to trinidad's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Waiting for Lewisham to send theirs, but did get the email from the gas and electricity supplier saying prices were to increase by ?700 from 2nd April. If you haven't had communication from your fuel supplier, expect a letter or email informing you of the price increases PLUS those coming in November. Suppose the good thing is we have Spring and Summer to look forward too with warm weather and much lower usage and resulting bills over the next 6 and a bit months. -

Starting of with a bit of jazzy soul and followed up by a helping of pure jazz. Fourplay, El DeBarge, After The Dance Donald Byrd, Change (Makes You Want To Hustle) -
I'm still suffering from these pop up ads at the bottom of the screen. They are really annoying, not relevant to me, unwanted and a pure nuisance. Please any updates Admin?

Violent dog and owner case closed
jazzer replied to Eastdulwich84's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Hi KK, I was sorry to hear that this happened to you when you originally posted about it. I hope you are OK, but still obviously angry (and rightly so) that this happened. What I am really worried about is how anyone can kick a dog, let a lone a lurcher that isn't particularly large and has a small jaw. I hope your dog is recovering, but no doubt still traumatised from what happened to it. Take care J -
Hi Admin, many thanks. J

No fly zone - the reason I believe the West does not want to impose a No fly zone is so as to prevent this was escalating into what would undoubtedly be World War 3. The West has learned the lessons from World Wars One and Two and is doing everything possible to prevent a third World War.

A piece of history, what Russia is doing to the Ukraine, the Ukraine did to the Poles in 1944. It was called ethnic cleansing then. What Russia is doing is wholly wrong, the point I'm attempting to make is that history Repeats itself. https://www.thefirstnews.com/article/over-100000-slaughtered-with-axes-pitchforks-scythes-and-knives-the-wolyn-massacre-started-76-years-ago-today-and-lasted-for-two-years-6714

Don't forget that from later in the year current stamps will not be usable and they will be able need to be exchanged from later this month. If that doesn't happen the stamps will not be recognised by the PO.
