    Dick?s Out

The same could be said of Khan for his lack of financial control of TfL that he should also go now.
  2. I have one such "smart meter" which was fitted 18 months ago and my charges have been based solely on the amount of water used, so far there has been no indication that the costs are being determined by peak or off peak timings. I guess this is a possibility bearing in mind the recent press reports of how some energy companies (OK, three so far) are intending to alter the costs throughout the day. I suspect Thames Water are using this is one way of reducing the "costs" of a man coming twice a year to read the water meter in the pavement, very similar to the way energy meter readers of gas and electricity are being slowly phased out. How often do you see one and if you do, they are not from your energy company, but have been sub contracted out to a third party who "specialise" in meter reading. Arghhhhhhhhhhh. So yes, water meters are being made "smart" And avoid a smart energy meter unless you want a bill that may charge you a different rate up to 48 times a day. In last Thursday's Daily Telegraph (no, it's not my daily paper) it was the neighbours after I saw the front banner about how a journalist objected to energy smart meters (well worth a read).

  6. Some people just seem to like whinging even though the original post is something positive that you'd assume those affected would be happy to learn about.

  8. and here we go again, (you have highlighted a very old chesnut), SO can we keep this thread about what the title says "New electric double-deck buses will be running on route 63"
  9. New electric double-deck buses will be running on route 63 which runs between Forest Hill and King?s Cross. These buses are part of our growing fleet of over 500 zero-emission* buses and will help improve air quality in London. These new buses will have high back seating throughout the bus, USB charging points and mobile phone holders in the seats, improved information screens. Our priority seats have new covers so they can be quickly identified to make travel easier. The new buses are part of the improvements we have been making to the service on route 63 and will continue to roll out over the coming months. For more information on this change, visit our buses page. Our TfL Go app provides information on real-time bus arrivals and status updates. You can use the TfL Go app to plan step-free journeys. All of our bus routes are served by low-floor vehicles, with a dedicated space for one wheelchair user and an access ramp. Wherever you're going, our network can be used safely. Our services are well ventilated with fresh air, but please continue to keep windows open on buses Please remember, you must continue to wear a face covering over your nose and mouth on all TfL services and stations, unless you are exempt. Yours sincerely, Louise Cheeseman Director of Buses

  12. Well, why can't the practice see its own patients rather than passing the work load onto the Tessa Jowell centre? Do they not have sufficient GP's at FHRGP to see patients? If not tell the patients that. If you go to a hospital out patient appointment they see patients who wait in a waiting room area, so why can't FHRGP see patients and not make them queue up outside? They have lots of roof lights they can open to circulate air, they have an entrance door and the back door as an exit point, so what's wrong with them seeing patients? An example - Was told I "needed" to have a long term health condition check with a Health Care Assistant, eventually was offered a double appointment because that was what was "apparently" needed. I was seen by a new qualified (HCA), he took my weight, height and blood pressure and spent 20 mins doing this. Could have been done in a 10min slot. What did I gain from the appointment, nothing, its a tick box exercise by FHRGP. They really need to get themselves sorted

  15. Anyone experiencing a loss of some channels tonight? Am aware "planned engineering work" is being undertaken on the Crystal Palace transmitter.
  16. Countries in Europe have experienced similar hikes in gas and electricity prices so it is not just a UK problem but a global issue created by Putin in Russia. This "sudden" price increase has not just happened because production costs have increased. Somewhere, someone (Russia) is making an absolute killing and we are all paying. The UK needs to exploit the gas fields under the North Sea and we need that gas to help rectify the issues, but that is not a quick win. As Waseley has stated, the mistakes have been made over the last 35+ years. So what to do; 1. Start fracking. No 2. Develop deep off-shore fields. Yes 3. Create storage capacity. Yes

  19. https://www.royalmail.com/sending/barcoded-stamps?iid=H1_BARCODEDSTAMPS Phasing out standard stamps and transition to Barcoded Stamps "Following a successful national trial we will now be adding unique barcodes to all our regular ?everyday? Definitive and Christmas stamps. Each barcoded stamp will have a digital twin and the two will be connected by the Royal Mail App. The unique barcodes will facilitate operational efficiencies, enable the introduction of added security features and pave the way for innovative services for our customers. Definitive stamps are the stamps that will be very familiar to most people. They feature the profile of HM The Queen. The barcodes match the stamp colour and sit alongside the main body of the stamp, separated by a simulated perforation line. The new barcode is an integral part of the stamp and must remain intact for the stamp to be valid. Non-barcoded stamps will be phased out but will remain usable until 31 January 2023. Customers are encouraged to use their non-barcoded stamps before this date. Alternatively, non-barcoded stamps can be exchanged for the new barcoded version through Royal Mail?s ?Swap Out? scheme. The ?Swap Out? scheme will open on 31 March 2022. Forms will be available via a variety of channels, including local Customer Service Points; the Royal Mail website and via our Customer Experience team. Customers will be able to use a Freepost address. Further details will be announced shortly." BUT NOT POST OFFICES.

  22. Can we all try and be nice to Foxy bearing in mind what he experienced over Christmas and what he is going through at present (I'm sure no one would have wanted to have swapped places with Foxy). From what he's said he is stuck in doors with little or no support. Hey Foxy, wishing you a speedy recovery.
