  1. Not to mention the temptation to eat kebabs or fried chicken every day!
  2. Cheers Jeremy, I was definitely not critisizing others, just saying what I remember happening, whilst giving myself a little pat on the back!
  3. Sorry Fatherjack and any others who helped out, I'm not trying to sound like a hero here, just glad I could help. I didn't know about gas supply, so now I know more detail it looks like whoever cut the gas is the real hero. I was very impressed by the fire brigade. Very quick to attend. Glad everyone is OK.
  4. Thanks PeckhamRose! I think they would have been fine given the speedy response from the fire brigade. Other people were helping out, checking the fire escape etc and staff around the back of the chicken shop to making sure everyone got out safely, then I suddenly thought about the people upstairs. They had no idea that directly below their flat was a fire getting bigger by the minute! Felt like a good deed done. Edit - just to say it all happened so quickly and I'm sure someone else would have warned the family upstairs if I hadn't! Everyone that helped did a good thing, especially the guy that cut off the gas supply! I think he or she was the real hero.
  5. We were just walking past and saw a fairly small chip pan fire and the bloke inside attempting to put it out with a fire extinguisher. After no time at all flames high enough to touch the ceiling! My girlfriend called the fire brigade, while I warned the family living upstairs and made sure they got out safely. Whilst this was going on some people were helping to evacuate the staff and cut off the gas supply. I can't believe how quickly it all happened. Family looked a bit shocked but thanks to a speedy response from fire brigade I think all is ok now!
  6. Maxim chicken opposite cherry tree - fire brigade just turned up
  7. Ha ha! Yeah they rang all night!!
  8. Sorry to gate crash but I'm on a night bus back from seeing Leftfield and they were AMAZING!!
  9. Oh yeah my mistake its third person.
  10. I saw the thread about kitchen knives and it reminded me... Does anyone know how to dispose of those blue camping butane cannisters? I've got one that still has some gas in it but I think the connector at the top is bent as it doesn't fit onto the stove bit anymore... Cheers
  11. Last Of Us is a first person survival game. The story is a bit like 28 days later in some ways. You are trying to transport a girl across the city to a group of people called the Fireflies. Basically read this article and it pretty much tells you what it's all about. http://www.esquire.co.uk/gear/gadgets/4136/the-last-of-us-the-only-video-game-you-need-to-buy-in-2013/ The best thing about this game is the story and the emotional content. It's really well written. Naughty Dog have always been good at these types of games, but The Last Of Us is their masterpiece. (In my opinion) Enjoy!

  13. Depends what style of game you're into, I also liked Max Payme 3, there's a really good level where you fight your way through the favela's in Brazil.
  14. Admin why don't you ask Louisa if she's ready to come off the naughty step? Do you know why you put in the lounge? Are you going to behave?
  15. Just looked at YouTube video for one of those chimney starters and they look amazing, I'm getting one. Why have I never heard of this before?
  16. We had mice problems once and it sucked. Every night they would scratch the ceiling above our bed. I think they were making a nest in the loft insulation. I haven't read through all the posts so apologies if it's already been said, but if you can find areas where they get in you can try to block it withs wire wool. Apparently they can't scratch through wire wool. Problem is though they can fit through a hole the size of the thickness of a pencil! Good luck
  17. ?5.40? For Peroni? That's ridiculous... I occasionally pop in there to catch the last bit of sun on the way home from work. I think Estrella might be cheaper. Edit - popped in today, don't do Estrella, got Pilsner urquel, ?5...

Jah Lush Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > It's Tony's pub and I guess he can do what he > likes and if that's slurping lager on his perch at > the bar with his family and friends whilst the > staff beaver away then so be it. Yeah your right, he can do what he wants, but ?5 a pint is too much, I'm not going back.
  19. Doesn't look like it Sue... Still got the same old people who I think are the owners standing around drinking while the bar staff work away. I guess they just don't care anymore if they are selling up.
  20. Cherry Tree are now charging ?5 a pint of Moretti. Shame, it's my nearest pub and although it's a bit shit, it was our go to pub for a quick pint or two and a whinge after work. I won't be going back though that is a rip off. Custom lost.
  21. Never heard of him. Or ever seen a bobby walking around ED either for that matter. Well very rarely anyway.
  22. I remember a journey back on the last train from London Bridge recently. Some guy was quietly enjoying a rather tasty smelling pasty, and this woman kept on harassing him saying "it stinks, it's inconsiderate, it's rude" he didn't really react, probably like me tends to avoid confrontation, especially when the person was actually getting quite aggressive. Eventually a woman sat on her own shouted, "Leave him alone, I like your smelly food!!" I found the whole exchange quite funny considering the carriage was practically empty. It's not every day you hear someone shouting "I like your smelly food!" I suppose you had to be there really. IMO as long as you don't leave you're rubbish on the train or bus then you can eat what you want and people need to lighten up a bit. If you don't like it get a nose plug!!
  23. I picked my girlfriend up from Gatwick earlier and followed the signs for pick up. There are no signs saying you have to pay for pick up until you get trapped into a one way slip road leading to an unmanned toll booth. I was a bit pissed off that I'd been tricked into having to pay for something I didn't realise I had too as there is no sign. So I carefully reversed back out of the one way slip road with my hazards on and drove around to drop off instead... Does anyone know, if I get a ticket for reversing out, where I stand legally? They don't display the sign saying you have to pay until you're forced into a one way section. It's a con. Any advice would be welcome. Thanks.
