Anonymous: Powerful activist group or disillusioned youngsters?
phobic3000 replied to Ridgley's topic in The Lounge
I'm sure a lot of them don't even know why they are protesting. -
I went to Brixton to do insanity classes once a week about a year ago and it was insanely difficult. Couldn't imagine doing it every day of the week.

Thanks, I will cook it. Can I blame you lot if I'm ill? Where there's blame there's a claim!!

I couldn't resist the urge to buy a whole chicken yesterday morning. The use by date was for the same day but I forgot about it so it was left in the work fridge overnight. To eat or not to eat, that is the question. (Maybe I should chick it)

I looked at the footage youtube and not only is she an aggressive racist but she is also a serious potty mouth. Every other word is f'ing this f'ing that, and there are young kids on the bus, possibly hers as she's standing next to a pram. I didn't watch it all the way through... Did anyone try interject and stick up for the women being shouted at?

I did some work for A N Rowland LTD based in South Norwood. They seem a decent bunch of people. I've heard they do a good job. -

Best croissants in East Dulwich
phobic3000 replied to Angharad_L's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
La Scala do the best croissants, buttery and always fresh. But they opened my eyes with a Portuguese tart recently, they are yummo! -
What age is somebody considered old? I have received the odd look from people probably aged around 50-60 for not giving up my seat when they look perfectly healthy and comfortable. You don't want to offend people by making them feel old. Also once I tried to offer my seat to a really old guy who looked around 90 and he practically wrestled me back into my seat insisting on standing. I would never give my seat up for a woman unless she was pregnant, old / struggling or with little ones.

New version of the forum coming - please test it for us...

Much easier to use on phone, which is what I usually use. -
Yeah just for the record when I've been I've not heard cheesy 80's or 90's music! I probably wouldn't have stuck around if it was... Some of the tunes were a bit cheese but they had quite an eclectic mix... Soul, blues, indie, reggae etc. I've shazam'd some decent artists down there! I don't go that often so maybe it depends on time of day or who's on shift. I appreciate a lot of people probably don't like it or think it's too loud. I just feel it's the only place that plays music quite loud and on a decent sound system and I like that. Also if you sit further down at the tables it's a lot quieter. And the beers good too!
-
My feedback is... I like the Flying Pig because they usually play good music and are not afraid to play it loud in the front bar area. They've got a decent sound system unlike some of the other pubs in the area. It's nice to sit at the front, have a few decent beers and listen to some good tunes.

Wow you're brave! Glad they got the bike back.

Yeah Louisa the Piclhurst Pub was a favourite of mine purely for the beer garden which gets the sun in the afternoon. It's now an Argentinian steak, which I find a bit odd for such a huge building. It's bigger than the greyhound in Dulwich village, similar type of building.

I live in East Dulwich and work in West Wickham. It's a nice area, pretty quiet compared to ED obviously. We have a shop on the High Street but as an engineer I drive all over the place. Keston's just down the road and it has a nice pub called the fox. If you like cycling it's just down the road from the countryside.

The scallops are amazing. They set fire to something underneath the scallops, which come with a whisky sauce. So as the fire is burning it heats up the sauce and cooks the scallops. Very tasty.
