  1. So can I bung a parking attendant 10 quid to not fine me? Brilliant! Bribing a policeman I have many issues with but undermining a commercially run system of taxation I have no problem with.
  2. ?? patrols, South African stylee on Barry Road.? By that I assume you mean police pulling cars over for imaginary traffic offences in order to solicit bribes.
  3. So what I?m getting from this thread is, it?s okay for me to nick peoples? drugs but only if I?m dressed as a rozzer.
  4. Everyone is missing the fucking point again, from those bleating about the injustice of it all to those defending the poor MPs who should by rights be paid well enough to keep their tennis courts surfaced to a decent standard. It?s about honesty and integrity. People in public office, in fact all people, should behave honestly and just as a matter of course not take the piss. How much they should get paid overall is a completely different argument. You can?t use it as an excuse for selfish non public spirited behaviour. Just because everyone does it doesn?t make it okay. It just makes everyone a cunt. See also the banking system and the whole, ?Well who can blame them for trying to make a buck?? argument and the, ?These people are there to make money not to have a social responsibility.? dross that all the pointless bags of flesh in the industry try to use to absolve themselves. It?s about culture not whether or not you can make culpability stick. The look out for number one, greed is good culture that proliferates gives people, from the hedge fund manager to the local dope dealer, as much social worth as the amount of swine feed you can grind out of their bones. Fortunately there are still some decent human beings around, just not very many.
  5. Yeah the bugger still earns more than me and he can?t even do maths.
  6. When you weigh it all up your best bet for a cheap, unpretentious round on a relatively well kept and picturesque course is Beckenham Place. It?s a short drive away or a few stops from Denmark Hill.
  7. A Stella and coked up letting agent.
  8. No it's not.
  9. It?s actually Babs Windsor but I spilled some jam down my chest so I can see your mistake.
  10. Nope you have to be a member or play with a member at Aquarius. I think it is also quite a small and close-knit club where you have to be introduced.
  11. What does the colour of their skin have to do with anything?
  12. Haven?t we discussed this already? I think we came to the conclusion that they all come from Penge. I don?t think it helped.
  13. What do you mean half-naked?
  14. That depends, were you on the fucking bus last night when it stopped outside my window for ten minutes, disrupting the channel 4+1 signal and consequently my dinnertime episode of the Simpsons? Non-slip, bum-friendly seats are all well and good but a man can only take so much of Marge?s blue, bouffant crackling and pixilating to an electronic staccato after a hard day at work.
  15. I know. Stupid idea isn?t it? You?ll get all sweaty.

Nope not just you Anna. They were especially tricky when wearing nice smooth, shiny suit trousers. It was an interesting way to get to know other commuters a bit better.
  17. And how pleasantly soft and cushy the seats are for the boney of arse of this world. It was like sitting on a 2 tiered Victoria sponge but without all the usual liberal guilt you get from using cake as a cushion while people in Slough are forced to eat salt laden sandwiches from Tesco.
  18. I got one of these today and to my amazement there was actually enough space for me to sit in one of the seats upstairs without my legs being squashed up against the seat in from of me. Could it be that some designer somewhere has come to the realisation that there are actually a large number of people out there who are taller than 5?9?? Anyway the 40 stops behind my house and buggers up my TV reception so a pox on it and all who travel in it.
  19. What? Next you?ll be suggesting that they should be given the vote.
  20. I think most people have a great deal of respect for what the members of the armed services do on an individual level. This is why a lot of people who won?t necessarily go waving union jacks at soldiers or be all jolly hockey sticks about flattening one of the oldest cities on earth will still give to campaigns like Help for Heroes and acknowledge the Armistice. But people are very disillusioned about how the military are used politically. It?s difficult to feel anything but cynicism and sadness when troops come home from a war that was widely disagreed with but entered into anyway as one big fuck you to the public from the government. Not to mention that they couldn?t even be bothered to properly fund the troops they decided to dump in the desert. Most people are aware of and grateful for what the armed forces do with regards to defence but many of them have strong objections to them being used for political and financial ends which the public cannot identify with. So therein lies the problem the activities of the armed forces have to be shown to be generally in line with the current national zeitgeist.

    MPs' expenses

You make a compelling argument D_C. What are her credentials when it comes to impersonating a young Babs Windsor?

Are you suggesting that MPs are somehow more valuable to our society than student nurses? Fascist! And student nurses are a lot easier on the eye.
  23. Yes valid but given the situation not necessary. Sometimes people post complete rubbish on here but given the situation, context and tone there was no reason for anyone to expect that post to have been a fabrication. There is plenty of disingenuous nonsense about foaming at the mouth, crack addicts roaming the streets with machetes. But a sincere sounding post about assault with a deadly weapon is not something people generally just make up.

    MPs' expenses

Yeah but the fact that they decide on what their own benefits are and that it is public money being used means that that there is a responsibility on them, as the highest level of public servants in the country, to not take the piss.
  25. No someone just piped up on here to say that someone they know was attacked with a knife because they felt like making it up. People do it all the time. Fuck I?ve got a pet camel called Siegfried. He pisses Listerine and has a gumball dispenser in his hump.
