  1. I haven?t seen one of those since Pa fell off the bus.
  2. Here are a few that (I think) are specifically localised to the group of friends I grew up with. We still use them today normally to the bemusement of our respective spouses. Cockwobble. As in: Don?t catch a cockwobble. When telling someone not to overreact. Fuckcake. As in: What are you doing you fuckcake?! Mucklefucked. As in: I was completely mucklefucked. When referring to being in a confused, normally drug/alcohol induced state.
  3. Bloody hell you sound like a bunch of school teachers going on about messy handwriting. ;-) I remember those fascist well, trying to constrain a young boy?s creativity with their rules and HB pencils.

    Friday

Whoo-hoo! Happy Friday all. Open mic at Le Plough is always a laugh. :)-D
  5. And there Jah has the answer. Let people say what they like. But if you disagree with it don?t be apathetic. You have a responsibility to stand up and have your say. Or face the consequences of living in their world.

I strongly believe that people should be able to think and say what they like, even if I disagree with it. But then you have the whole conundrum of where odes freedom of speech end a inciting violence start?
  7. I love driving but not particularly in London. I wouldn?t really call what we do in London driving. It?s more like waiting in a car. I?m always nice to bikes and not prone to losing it on the road at all. I do however seem to suffer from commuter rage on the trains and busses though. The amount of times I want to start dishing out smacks around the head to people for being idiots while walking down Victoria street or getting the bus on LL.
  8. Where have you all gone? Your scones are done.
  9. Well cut off my cock and call me Sally.
  10. I just got some unsolicited nonsense entitled: Urgent! Editorial deadline has been moved forward to 5pm today. I really wish IT would block this rubbish.
  11. lofty Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > My boss says 'chimley' rather than > 'chimney'....lol So do I and I have no intention of changing my pronunciation.
  12. I've always liked, "Well, fuck me sideways."

It has to do with what the population wants to call it. If the population wants to call it Mumbai then so be it. Whatever their reasons are is their business. Someone in England (unless of course you have some vested interest) has no place even having an opinion. Now if somebody made a proposal to change the name of London you would have every right to call it silly.
  14. I recon Pietersen?s* gunning for that honour. *Note re. the pronunciation thread. That is pronounced P- i ? terrrrr ? sen and not Peterson.
  15. Well if we?re going to get all hippy about it, I like, ?Keep a cool head and a warm heart.? That coming from someone who has recently been told by a colleague that he can be a little too, ?hot-headed and idealistic.?

Ladies and gents I give you todays winner of Post of the Day. Essentially what Keef is saying is that the Southern **** is more explosive that the Northern **** You can make of that what you will. I?m off to think of something inappropriate to say about dog attacks now.
  17. I think Northerners do the C word well with the hard ?U? sound. It sounds more aggressive and lyrical at the same time.
  18. Much can be said of the subtle skill and intuition it takes to use the C word to its greatest effect.
  19. Anyone else following what is transpiring in the world a cricket at the moment? The game hasn?t seen this kind of thing since Kerry Packer?s World Series. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/cricket/england/7335193.stm The Daily Mash as always has an insightful take on the matter. http://www.thedailymash.co.uk/sport/sport-headlines/english-cricket-board-orders-india-back-to-the-fields-20080409858/
  20. Oh and my lovely wife and I were having this conversation last night. How does one pronounce nougat? Is it noo ? gar Or nug ? gat ? She is still lovely even though she can?t pronounce nougat.
  21. Oh Jesus try having an Afrikaans surname and living in England. The variety of different spellings and pronunciations I get are quite amusing. You wouldn?t think places like Belgium, Holland and Germany were just across the water. Or that the ?Empire? TM spent a couple of hundred years buggering around in our country.
  22. The term is schadenfreude I think. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/7338512.stm
