  1. I thought one of my neighbors must have put manure down on their garden.
  2. Well lighting and cookery are very different industries with different human resource needs.
  3. Sean, cricket is like politics: Pointless, nonsensical and tedious and yet extremely important and the world would almost certainly stop spinning without it.
  4. Well fuk them if they can't take a joke.
  5. Sean I think it is quite easy to distinguish between the light hearted comments and those bordering on misogyny. The title of this thread is so absurd that I don?t think anyone sensible will give any credence to anything said here in earnest.
  6. Let?s hope so. I hate the concept of conversions. Makes you feel like you?re living in a house-share.
  7. Speaking of Bukowski. I recently decided to re-read Post Office as I had enjoyed it so much as a teenager and I really didn?t enjoy it that much this time around.
  8. I think we should practice asap although the BBC?s website says that it is going to be raining for the foreseeable future.
  9. So what actually constitutes a yummy mummy? I would say nothing less than a plunging neckline and fuk-boots.
  10. A woodchuck would chuck lots of wood if a woodchuck could chuck wood
  11. If you are the kind of person who entertains themselves by putting cats in boxes the car exists behind both doors and is also not behind both doors until you open one of them. All possibilities are real and coexist until it is determined which one we experience.
  12. Why are deserted forests full of the sound of falling trees.
  13. OK maybe I am just playing devil?s advocate here but here is an argument that I feel is valid for any country in this world: Would you not say that if there are any people at all in a country who are not employed and contributing to (and therefore benefiting from) the formal economy then that country is not meeting its responsibility to its citizens? Is having skilled/educated immigrants (like myself) come into this country and take thousands upon thousands of jobs when there are also thousands upon thousands of unemployed people in the uk, not just testament to the fact that the state has failed to educate and properly use the human resources available to it? I would add this though: When it comes to "Britain" you can?t consider anyone from places like the west indies, Indian subcontinent or any other ex-colony* an immigrant. *excluding those who formally won independence like the USA or SA.
  14. If women were all around 1ft taller than men there wouldn?t be any of this awkwardness. Breasts would just be in your normal line of vision. Perhaps if we apply Darwin?s theories, in a few million years this will happen through natural selection. Shorter men who don?t spend their lives staring in a downwards angle may have more energy to reproduce as they suffer from less chronic neck pain. Although I am probably just speaking nonsense. Anyway that?s me for today. I have a chiropractor appointment to get to.
  15. Why would they grab your crutch? Seems a bit mean. Or do women like men with a limp? Is that why I see these young fellows walking around dragging one foot behind them?
  16. I wonder if councillor Peter John would choose to live on the DKH estate.

I doubt any men will contest you on that. anyway what is this about open mic night? I thought the drinks were going to be at the Mag.
  18. Are the SE22 state schools seen as good or not?

This means when it comes to the government I assume the worst and expect it to redeem itself. I can?t help it. This attitude is chiseled into my very soul. So until the only purpose of government is to serve and the very concept of it being there to rule is as contemptible as slavery, I will remain a cynic.
  20. I am not at all sure why that would be as I do not have kids and have therefore not investigated local schools. I also don?t know what the average salary is in Wandsworth as opposed to here. Anecdotally though I can say that on a night out in Wandsworth you encounter far more of the pink-shirted, slicked back hair brigade than you do in ED.
  21. Happy birthday Anna!
