  1. My wife is at a hypnotists? conference this weekend so I?m on me tod. I have to cut the grass out back I think. It is starting to look a bit jungle like. All my neighbours are retired so they have time on their hands to create these perfectly manicured gardens which make mine look pikey by comparison. Feel like I?m letting the terrace down. I?m sure they make tut tuttings to one another after I walk past.

    Friday

Bored, hungover, unchallenged by a job that is apparently ?Oh so fucking important? but takes all the creativity of a lobotomised eel to achieve and surrounded by prats who get hardons for things like well drafted contracts and cross referenced appendices. But it is all nearly finished.:)-D Well until Monday but let us not dwell on that.
  3. I would just like to unreservedly apologise for anything offensive I said this morning. I think I only really sobered up after lunch. It's not a very nice feeling either but at least it has finally got around to being bloody Friday.

    71 and an inch

Yeah I was there for a while last night. We were actually there quite early at about 8ish then left at around 9:30. I did however pop back in later on my way home for 1 last drink. I think it was about 12ish and the place was heaving.

I?m all for bunging a juke box and a few couches in the CPT. Or the Drum. That?s possibly the most laid back pub in ED. I went in last Saturday afternoon, The Who was playing on the sound system while the landlord played air guitar and Jah Lush served the drinks.

If you > don't believe this happens just stand and watch > for a while - it's nauseating. Because a frumpilly dressed girl with dredlocks, wearing a dayglow vest is just the thing to make men part with their money. It could be worse though. I mean they could be estate agents or recruitment consultants.
  8. The one on the Old Kent Road. Incidentally has anyone ever seen the old bloke in Camberwell who goes around on one of those pensioners? motorcycles that he has decked out in Elvis memorabilia?
  9. Not just the marking Bob. There?s ?preparation? too. And parents evening.
  10. I find threatening them with violence works too.
  11. There were still people in there when I went past on the bus on my way to work this morning.
  12. Environmentally friendly knives and forks. I just had a takeaway fried breakfast (including bacon) and it came with wooden knives and forks which are better for the environment than plastic ones. Problem is they make your food taste like wood.
  13. Missing the issue as always folks. Teachers in the UK are not badly paid but they aren?t particularly well paid either. The thing is that teaching is the most important profession in any society*. So the issue is, do you want to make the profession attractive enough to attract and retain the highest calibre of people? More money is the most obvious way to do this. *Disagree if you like but if you do I will take this opportunity to call you a fucking idiot in advance.
  14. Can we not round them up on Satuday mornings and run them out of town?
  15. I am of course not Elvis though. The guy who works in the chip shop is Elvis. I'm just a fan.
  16. I can concur that wearing an Elvis t-shirt somehow raises peoples? spirits. I was wearing one when I went to Halfords the other day and the sullen, sulking cashier suddenly brightened up when she saw my shirt and we passed the time of day exchanging cheesy clich?s.
  17. I dabbled, got engrossed for a few weeks then lost interest.
  18. It has always puzzled me that Dulwich Village, which on the outside seems to have so much character, has very little in the way of establishments that actually have any real character.
  19. Can I just stop you all there and get back to the issue at hand. This is not about race or class. It is about the responsibilities of dog owners. I don?t think anyone should have an automatic ?right? to own a dog. If you want one you have to first accept your responsibility towards the welfare of that dog and the welfare of the people that dog will come into contact with. This is what is not happening. Perhaps we should ask someone at the rspca who has to put down the hundreds of Staffordshire terriers that are abandoned about it.
  20. I will be there this evening.... again. Weird thing is I only used to frequent inside 72 about once or twice a month. Now that it is closing I have been there 3 time in the last 2 weeks.
  21. I would probably wear makeup for a free guitar case but do you want your patron saint doing it?
  22. I love staffies I have known many and they are great dogs. What is happening here though is that they are becoming the victim in a case of people not accepting the responsibilities that come hand in hand with their freedoms. And even I am starting to see how they may have to become a banned breed because of people?s inability to be decent to their fellow man. (incidentally I think 4x4s should be banned in all cities even though I drive one when I?m in the bush in SA) Q: Why do so many people in this city get staffies when there are so many other breeds that make equally good pets and are more suitable? A: I think for the most part is because they are extremely loyal and easily trained and thier aggresive streak is easy to tap into. They also look hard. I know there are plenty of responsible owners but for the most part what I have said is unfortunately true. In my book willingly wanting something for its aggressive nature is as good as going out and committing a violent crime. The intent to infringe on someone else?s safety is there. The sad thing is that the staffie as a breed is the victim here because people are so fucking pathetic and self-centered that they feel that aggression is somehow something other than weakness.
  23. She has some strange thoughts about seaside houses too.
  24. I wonder how much higher takings in pubs were last night. ;-)
