  1. She reserves the merlot for the offspring
  2. Yeah nets in dulwich park. I'm up for that. Anyone got some pads I can borrow? Inspection of my shed reveals 1x bat, 1x pair of really old looking gloves, a newish but cheap looking ball and a box in which to keep my particulars. No pads though.

  4. Make a fire and grill the dam thing.
  5. Or carriages on commuter trains that have rows of exercise bikes on them. You pay extra to be able to workout on your way home from work, but don?t have to pay for the gym and the power generated from the bikes can help the train run.
  6. Not that far fetched http://www.accra-mail.com/mailnews.asp?id=926
  7. Does it have one of those fireplace screensavers Sean?
  8. I?m looking for a LCD or plasma and one that is smallish. I?m thinking 26? or 32?. At the moment I have a giganormous LCD thing and I am sick of a telly being the prominent feature in the room. The telly is about 6 feet away so I think 26? should be ok. I really should just go to a shop and not do this online but I can?t face it. Curries or the like on a Saturday makes me seriously think about rearranging my moral values so as to somehow fit genocide into the list of ?things this world would benefit from?. So I think it is better for my immortal soul if I just do it all online.
  9. When you talk about the size of a television ie 26? or 46? does that refer to the length of the screen or the diagonal measurement from corner to corner?
  10. Nope. It was just a concept thought up by some architects. I collect weird stuff like this for one of the columns I write.
  11. Just imagine the god awful hellhole it would be if there was major recession and it became a slum. It is all a bit too Megacity 1 for my liking. But not strictly impossible.
  12. Just realised I can?t make it this Friday. Got tickets for the Beach Boys.
  13. Considering all the talk about the whole property price/housing shortage malarkey, here?s a novel solution. http://www.popularchitecture.com/supertower/
  14. a) Grace (from will and grace) - Neurotic and annoying. Never in a million years. I wouldn?t even want to sit next to her on the bus. b) Ros (from Frasier) - Strong yet not perfect and somehow kind with a sarcastic sense of humour. And very sexy. Definitely. c) Wilma (from the Flintstones) - If I?m going to do a cartoon it has to be Jessica Rabbit or nothing! d) Rose Tyler (from Dr Who) - A bit annoying but capable. (and hot!) Maybe. e) Sarah Jane (Also from Dr Who - old school days) ? Don?t remember her. Must have been before my Dr Who days. f) Trisha Yates (ahh the old days of Grange Hill) - Grange Hill? g) Mary (as in virgin) - Now that would be a good story to tell your mates in the pub. h) Mary (as in something about) ? Yes. No. Maybe. I don?t know there?s the whole hair gel thing. So it will have to be Ros.
  15. Could be a whole new thread that. ?Seen anyone famous from East Dulwich, somewhere else??
  16. Or ?need?.
  17. If I remember correctly that house has been on sale for almost 2 years.
  18. I?m busy writing about this at the moment*: The RICS has released its construction market survey for the first quarter of 2008 and there has been a sharp fall in the amount of housing being built. So house prices will inevitably rise again at some stage because of simple supply and demand and the UK will continue to provide inadequate over priced housing. http://www.rics.org/NR/rdonlyres/B511E1E6-D94C-4724-BA85-FEF7F332483B/0/RICSConstructionSurvey2008Q1.pdf *Well I?m supposed to be but I?m procrastinating and wasting time on the forum.
  19. Question is. Is much selling at all at the moment? We nearly bought our first house about a year ago but decided to hold off because the whole thing just looked too out of control and unsustainable (well that and we needed some of our deposit money for other things, which seems a bit fortuitous now). So now we are just waiting and watching. Which I suspect is what a lot of people are doing. Many others are going to sit on what they have until they can get back what they put in. So the whole shebang may well be stuck in the slow lane for a couple of years until the rest of the economy catches up. Then we can look forward to humanity?s propensity for greed and innate stupidity leading to it all going apeshit again.
  20. Keep an eye on the forum j-mo. We have normally come to some kind of consensus by about halfway through the month. I have found the forum a great way of meeting people in the area and the drinks are a laugh.
  21. I?m half expecting to the see the headline: Mugabe Secedes Power Graciously
  22. Why can?t people all just get along maaaan?
