  3. The Dulwich Wood House perhaps.
  4. Yeah yeah. Nice guys finish last etc. The nature of the industry brings out the worst in people. Doesn't mean I have to like it or endorse behaving like a dickhead in order to clamber your way to the middle. I still think that estate agents are parasitic and exploitative. With the ease of information flow we have these days I don?t think we need so many of them. All we need is 2 or 3 conveyancers on the high-street who deal directly with the public.
  5. I will double cross that bridge when I get to it. Not exactly a mixed metaphor but something someone once said to me that I found rather funny.
  6. Does the pope shit in the woods?
  7. Science = knowledge gained through the scientific method. The Scientific Method = Applying the following to a phenomenon: 1) Observation 2) Description 3) Prediction 4) Control (double checking/eliminating other possibilities) 5) Identification of cause. This is the most reliable way of acquiring knowledge that we have, it works and it is responsible for our advancement as a species. There are things in this world that people experience as real that fall down on one of these steps. Normally on point 5. Does this mean they do not exist? Before we understood oxidization gunpowder would still explode and you could prove it scientifically with a couple of fire crackers. Or could we be missing something when applying these 5 steps something just somewhere on the edge of human observation that we can?t quite grasp but get a flicker of now and then? Or is there something else to take into consideration other than these 5 steps that is so blatantly obvious that it will hit humanity through the face when we realise how obvious it is? I?m not suggesting anything just posing a few questions. Personally I have no idea. The Scientific method seems pretty sensible to me but I don?t think we should ever draw definites.
  8. Yeah I've heard "A face like a bag of spanners" Don't know what it is about tools and car parts where I'm from. :-S
  9. In the town I grew up in we have a peculiar way of brining someone?s intelligence into question by referring to them as either a ?clutch? a ?spanner? or my personal favorite a ?tappet?.
  10. All of them! And then some.
  11. "For gods' sake woman!"

Browwwwwk! Erm excuse me. Come to think of it he did have a slicked back ponytail and wear a leather waistcoat.
  13. Surely hypnotherapy does not fall into this? I would have thought that modifying behavior through suggestion has been scientifically tested and proven. At least that is what my university psychology lecturer led me to believe.
  14. Dam I?ve risen to the bait haven?t I.
  15. It must be difficult to go through life with such a skewed, embittered and prejudiced view of other people Louisa.
  16. Well if you are correct Macroban maybe I will stay here.
  17. I?ve been enjoying ?? to have ever troubled daylight.? at the moment. As in ?The ugliest bugger to have ever troubled daylight.? Or ?fattest arse?? etc. I also like poppycock as it involves posh ladies saying cock.
  18. Like I said before he is a complete wanker. I met him when he spoke at Rhodes University in SA in 1997 (ish ?) and took an instant dislike to him. He has valid arguments and has done some very good work but so do/have many people who don?t feel the need to go bullishly shoving their beliefs down other people?s throats.
  19. Hmmm I feel like peanuts.
  20. Yeah why do they cost so much if they are complimentary?
  21. There?s one similar in Afrikaans that when translated means ?go shit in the cornfield?.
  22. My other half and her family say Antwacky. I didn't have a clue what they were on about until it was explained. I thought they were asking for tobacco or something. :-S
  23. Now I know of a few beaches where that look would indeed be pretty dangerous. ::o
