  1. The problem here is that you decided to eat at liquorish in the first place. I go there now and then for a drink as my friends like the place but I really don?t like it at all. It is the way it is set out. It?s too long and narrow. The fing shooie is all wrong. Can?t be helped it?s just the shape of the building. Nothing good can come out of a place set out like that. I know this is the equivalent of saying you don?t like someone because they have say a ?funny shaped head? but there you go.
  2. Anyone work in a local pub and have any info on takings since the ban?
  3. Blood and fat are the 2 most nutritious parts of an animal appart from possibly egg yolk but that's not really part of an animal, just something that comes out of a chickens bum. Whenever I visit up-north my mum-in-law makes sure I get a daily dose of black pud.
  4. Drive to Croydon with a hangover before 10am?!?!?!?! What kind of cruel and unusual punishment is that!? Anyway counting the travel cost, associated carbon footprint and the ?100 you will end up spending on superfluous, quirky cutlery and a flat-packed side board it all sounds like a very, very bad idea. Just stumbling down LL armed with a pair of sunglasses and a fiver is altogether a better option.
  5. I have noticed lots of wonderful Victorian architecture hidden around Peckham.
  6. I went into Le Chardon once a few years back to have a look at their menu and perhaps make a booking. I was treated so rudely I promised never to set foot in there again.
  7. St John's Wood?
  8. I like the Blue Brick. The food quality can be iffy but there is a certain scruffy honesty about the place that I like.
  9. Pah. With her more likely. ;-)
  10. Best pub in ED. Except as my other half points out, if you want to drink wine.
  11. You have peeled yourself off the mattress after the bloodcurdling chimes of your mobile phone wake you from a nightmare where you had to put a suit on and go into an office. You put your suit on and get ready to go into the office. You make coffee. There is no milk. You make toast. You have a 5 minute tug-of-war with a spatula that is insistent on keeping the cutlery drawer closed. You eventually liberate a butter knife. There is no butter. You give up on breakfast and leave, taking the rubbish out with you. You groggily throw the recycling in the wheely-bin. Your social conscience kicks in and you fish the cans and bottles out of the rank bin. At least this is better than last week?s mix-up with the laundry basket and the toilet. You set off down the road, nimbly side-stepping around the dog poo and standing in gum. You cross Lordship Lane and are nearly killed by a diesel-belching juggernaut with big yellow letters emblazoned on the front saying Peckham. All this and you have not even got on public transport yet! Please smile at me on Monday mornings. I really need it.
  12. Non-competitive sports? I?ve never heard a bigger load of limp-wristed codswallop in my life! I went to school in South Africa so this is news to me. No wonder England is so reliably crap at sport. I am truly, truly exasperated by the very concept even though I was never the best at sport and ?non-competitiveness? would have saved me from many black eyes and at least two broken arms.
  13. I am trying to be an independent observer here. Isn?t putting bouncers on a door to ?keep undesirables out? a sure way to aggravate said undesirables and invite them to come around and make trouble? I know I would be a tad upset if my local put heavies on the door to keep me out because they didn?t like the way I dressed, spoke, acted etc. Although I do not tend to fight, behave obnoxiously and use drugs on a regular basis.
  14. Now what they need to do is find a way to stop people throwing gum away on the street. It makes more mess than cigarettes ever will and is much more foul. My advice is start smoking a pipe. No messy filters and fewer chemicals.
  15. Apparently the workmanship is very, very good. It was all hand made by a group of professional carpenters. Although if I had ?850K to spend I would use it to buy myself a small African county or perhaps a Pacific island.
  16. I also don't think they should be closed down but some kind of strong statement should be made. Perhaps force them to change their shop-front so that it doesn't look like it is made of lego.
  17. Tom Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > A fine should be paid and be used towards a > community project (the roundabout?). Perhaps to install some stocks on the roundabout where those reponsible for Nero?s bolshy behavior can be locked up and pelted with half finished frapachinos and lattes for our Saturday morning entertainment. >:D<
  18. But they're happy to have people playing with matches around canisters of preasurised gas.

  20. Well it will make finding the group easy. It's that lot sat in the corner in their undies.

  22. The Sunday roasts at the Crown and Greyhound are indeed rubbish. I had one at the Dulwich Wood House this Sunday though that was great! They gave me half a cow :))
  23. So if a jury have fish and chips for lunch during a trial and it is wrapped in..... Oh never mind I'm being too silly even for myself here. That aside. What are the consequences? Will the case be thrown out or will it continue or will they have to re-try the case?
  24. So if flagrant statements about the guilt/innocence of, shall we say a suspect to a crime who has recently been arrested, are published on a community forum where they could be read by local people who are likely to be called as witnesses it could constitute contempt of court.
